    Lololololol

In amy case, I do not agree that it is a hard and fast rule (and I dont even know if anyone said that). I see plenty of neats with sportcoats and I don't even give it a second thought, but for some reason when I looked at your fit the thought popped into my head that the tie was a little more of a suits tie than a sportcoat tie.

In any case, as I stated originally, suit tie or not, it looks nice visually, which is for me the main thing, even though I do consider formality coherency to be important.

I agree that there are more variables in the equation than just head shape and size when it comes to determining optimal collar geometry and size. Shoulder width, for one.

In context, I also find that point angle can interact well or ill with aspects of the jacket geometry, especially gorge angle. But I suspect that’s my personal quirk.

    Cheers,

    Ac

Thanks for the info Eliod. I may post a pic later of my face shape + neck and get some feedback. I think a semi-spread will look good for my face, plus I am growing to love the way the collar rolls on when its spread. The tall vs short collar is something I will need to settle on when I start getting some MTM shirts (Luxire seems to be a popular option here).

I think a taller collar may look better for me, my head is definitely average to a bit larger than average.

Neck length is what dictates collar height.;)

Playing with my "new toys" - the latest purchases from the summer sales (suit, tie, and shoes). The suit is from Paul Stuart, and I was curious as to see how a Paul Stuart double-breasted suit would compare in silhouette to one from Brooks Bros. I've included a photo of my navy MTM BB D/B for comparison.

I think the fullness of the Stuart suits you better. The shoulders also really work for you.

Nice suit. The Paul Stuart silhouette is more flattering on you based on my taste than your BB MTM.

Interesting. You see fullness, but I see the Stuart as slimmer than the BB. Either way, Señor Crust, buy your DBs from PS in the future.
