1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

Some things, including, but not limited to, three-button undarted sack jackets with rolled buttonhole (and hook vents), patchwork Madras (or any Madras), button-down shirts, trousers darker than jackets (sometimes called "Northern Lights"), and stripes on stripes make some people see flashing red lights.

However, these things look good with flashing red lights.

Napps Of Waterbury ivory silk jacket, Brooks Brothers PPBD shirt and BB#1 Stripe tie, Pink pocket square, J. Crew patchwork Madras trousers, and Bass white bucks (with blue shoelaces).

The ever popular piece of a person picture, without a cookie, as cookies seemed to upset some people, and instead showing which way is North in hopes that no one is upset by knowing which way is North.

Perhaps Madras is a regional thing. In Los Angeles, Madras is proclaimed as Art from the highest lampposts and people have to pay extra to see Madras at the Los Angeles County Museum Of Art.

Yup I agree, I picked the tie poorly. It's vanda's burnt orange donegal.
Probably should have gone with something else.

    Thanks for the input!

Unconventional, cockeyed and optimistic, but promising. Like Crusty Jr.

SC in blue sacking? Don't see that everyday! Love your combinations, Potzetka. Square could be better tho imo. Puffed cream silk, for example. That mustard is bursting outta your pocket.

Cream silk seems to be your standard advice, lately. Have you turned into [IMG]?? [IMG]
Pockets squares always look too cramped to me in patch pockets. That's why I prefer to see SC's with 3 patch pockets worn without PS at all.
Indeed a very nice SC, @Poszetka . I have one in similar fabric, albeit in darker navy blue. The open weave makes it pill like crazy, though. Do you have that problem too? Anyone here with advice on how best to deal with pilling?

From the challenge - Seasonal Incongruence

Growing a beard since winter is coming even though it's 27 C outside are not in congruence with the season.
Neither is the wool tie worn with the khaki suit.

    Oh well.

    Suit - Belvest in a cotton/silk mix.
    Shirt - OCBD from Shirtonomy
    Tie - Drake's wool/silk
    PS - plain white linen
OTC socs. Should probably have gone sockless today.
Shoes - C&J handgrade dark brown suede

The Friday Challenge is "seasonal incongruence" - to wear a combination of items that, by rights, shouldn't be worn together - summer accessories with a winter suit, or, in today's case, a wool tie with an unlined summer suit.

    Suit - Phineas Cole/Paul Stuart
    Shirt - BB
    Tie - Drake's
    Braces - Lewin
Cufflinks - Boston Museum of Fine Arts
    PS - Ashear
    Shoes - Stefano Branchini
