    Another awesome fit, sir.

Regarding contrast collar shirts, I've often admired them on others (such as your good self), but I find myself a little underwhelmed when I see one on me. Although today was the first time I've paired that shirt with that suit, and I thought the combination worked reasonably well.

What's a "contrast color" shirt? :puzzled:

Presumably a contrast collar. I also like the look on others, but always feel a bit foolish wearing one myself.

Hi- Are the tight hems an EG thing or a personal preference? I don't like the way jacket and trews look too small (altho the waist coat doesn't help) but I'm ignorant where SW&D is concerned.
The SEH Kelly cut is similar (soft shoulder, low gorge, narrow lapels, high buttoning point, tapered high-hem trews) and I like it, but I've seen their stuff worn much looser.

The "can the contrast collar be done" question was just answered by crusty. Yes. Yes it can.

As with almost any kind of classic clothing they can look great, I think. And if anyone can pull them off, it's you; it requires a certain gravitas to wear them and not look like a sleazy banker-cliché. That being said I still would have liked a solid white shirt better here.
Actually I think the tie/shirt/cardigan combo is perfect, the shirt just doesn't go that well with the jacket. Now finding one that goes better with the shirt and the rest: that's a challenge.
    Tsk, tsk.

I'm definitely NOT a fan of contrast collar shirts Andy ... usually ... and I doubt I'll ever get one myself, but I think yours succeeds here by being of lower contrast than usual and thus avoiding that 'sleazy banker' look as mentioned. Don't throw it out yet!

Somehow the tie ended up looking the same color with the trousers on the photo. Rats!

Thanks @benhour ! Yes (regarding the color of the suit), I forgot to upload the close-up photo of the suit and accidentally posted the first photo twice. It's edited now, you can see the true color of the suit in the second pic. Cheers.

Thanks! I assume you mean the tie? I like bright ties in spring and summer. This one and another in sky blue have sharply divided opinions here in the past, but I still love 'em. :)

You're too kind. And I agree about the solid white shirt, which I would have chosen more than 9 times out of 10. But I did want to see if that contrast-collar shirt would work.

I like the color a lot, and the cut. But in the above photo, the fabric looks very thick and heavy. Is it a cotton?
