1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

I'd be remiss if I didn't ask for deets on this getup. Fabric on the suit looks to be a sharkskin?

The suit is from Suitsupply, it's actually a grey birdseye (VBC 'Revenge' 140s). Shirt is Proper Cloth, tie is from Henry Carter.

McFox and Poszetka tried to get me to thumb that slub, but I'm not having it! (Otherwise nice, gentlemen). I disagree with Caustic Man's take on Poszetka's hank. It's not subtle, I guess, but works. White linen would not be an improvement, just a very different look.

McFox got the thumb from me, but the shirt pattern gives me mild uncomfort.

McFox, is the 140s VBC a hopsack? And which SS model has the more roped shoulders, 3/2, and patch?

    Thanks!

    Why the discomfort?

It's not a hopsack and the model is Jort

I confess that I didn't notice the check. I do not love it, but it doesn't really detract from the overall impression.

I have little love for any patterned shirts with more cityfied suits (besides stripes and maybe subdued microchecks), but also am not crazy about taking a casual pattern and cutting a collar like that. But then I'm kinda boring. :D

Works for me here, though it's a look I'm uncomfortable with myself. I love gray ties but own few of them for this reason.

I'd be interested in the thoughts of others.

I have worn button downs (and only button downs) with ties for over sixty years. The only non button down shirts that I have ever worn are with dinner jackets. I think that button downs may be more common in the United States than elsewhere.

It was my working day, white linen was too formal. 'Wild Forest' PS has lots of greens, which match with shantung tie.

But every once in a while it's nice to have some variety. :)

    Hello gents

A lot of new things today: new Ralph Lauren tie (thrifted), new PS that was offered to me as a departure gift from my previous job, new shoes from Meermin (worn in a proper outfit this time) and new hair and beard cut.
    Same old SYCSYC style, though.
