OK, I'll give you: THAT'S an awful, awful look. NOT the crocs I meant....
Nice fit Roycru, but tell me about the art. I collect a lot of similar stuff.
Not that I condone Crocs, but in the limited settings they might be acceptable (on a boat, or the beach) when would wearing them with socks ever make sense? There was this dude we used to call "Crocs with socks" for that very reason.
I am of the belief that lace up shoes deserve socks. Period.
Your look(the top part) was a nice Summery look. My feeling is that you tried to bring that Summery feel to the bottom by wearing lace-ups with no socks.
I am not saying that I am for no socks ever. But I only like them with loafer style shoes. NEVER with lace-ups. Looks silly to me and seems that the wearer is trying too hard. Just because the weather is nice, doesn't mean that not wearing socks emphasizes/highlights a "Summery" look. My $.02.
With your outfit, I would have worn brown-ish socks.
It might be a freudian slip, or it might not.
Anyway, good to see that you read the text and not just look at the pictures.
It's my friend's breakfast room. Those things are on all four walls. My friend gets them in foreign countries.
Cesare Attolini suit
Tods black loafers
@The_Foxx Is that bespoke? I've heard good things about Attolini, but didn't know where they were available (RTW, or only bespoke in Europe, etc)
Oh how I wish Mr. Fox would snap some good quality pictures. It is a shame that we can't see the pix in any better quality when he dresses so darn well.
@The_Foxx I'll join the gentlemen above in praising your suit. Looks a lot better on you than the Sartorio suits you usually wear, which always seem a bit too tight around the shoulders and upper arms.
And yes, post better pics please
Thanks for the compliments guys-- it is a more generous fit than my sartorios (which I prefer), and unfortunately my only Cesare Attolini suit, from the Madison Ave store (rtw not bespoke)
@venividivicibj Attolini also does MTM, through their authorised dealers.
Who makes Attolini? I think I read on the French thread it was made by someone else well known?
Sartorio is Kiton right?
Attolini is made by..... Attolini Then there's Stile Latino, which is made by Attolini and is to them what Sartorio is to Kiton.
Personally, I'd rate Attolini among the very best RTW there is.
Edit: found a pic of the old man himself:
+1, never owned any Attolini, but base on my try on experience I definitely like them a lot, and for nearly the same money (if I have) I would definitely prefer Attolini over Kiton
Ivory socks. What else would you wear? I use Pantherella.
