1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

    Cheers,

    Two reflections on the "x-issue":

Like others, I am surprised how dogmatic conclusions some people draw on the basis of a picture in this forum. Stance, movement and the laws of physics may have more to do with how a jacket falls in a certain picture than fit.

The fact that a number of designers and tailors nowadays purposely favour a fit with an "x-element". This is especially true for some of the Italian and Japanese makers. We like to think that some rules on classic menswear are eternal, but that's obviously not the case.

Just one quick comment on the Foo shots: I don't think those are good examples. Foo is a guy with an "outlier" physique - he's compact. Now, a given cloth will drape differently on a size 34 jacket compared to say a size 48. If you scale Foo's fit photos up by imagining that he's six foot tall, then the fabrics will look much thicker and stiffer than they really are; and an "X" at the buttoning point might seem like a fail when really it's not.

@DiplomaticTies made another good point. The laws of men's style are not immutable. There's a current trend towards tighter clothes. If they fit you well and don't pull in odd places, and if you've got a decent physique, then well and good. Go for a slightly more form-fitting look.

Thanks. The shoes I get from the inofficial Stilmagazin Vass dealer. Unfortunately it was the last charge, that the user sold to the Stilmagazin forum, but fortunately I was able to get a second pair.

Striving to be liturgically correct, color-wise, for Gaudete Sunday. This as close as I can get to a rose tie.
