these ties you are using look too shiny for that SC to me. me thinks you need a lighter than navy blue, in a muted, textured, material. yes, i am a PITA about this, i know.

Your more aggressive colour combinations, esp. tie-wise have not gone un-noticed. Enjoying seeing the experiments evolve.

Wasn't going to wear a tie today, then changed my mind. Personally, I'm never entirely happy wearing BD collars & ties as the regulars here know, but I wasn't going to bother changing the shirt after changing my mind...

That's a different Drakes than the one in your Amazon profile, right? I didn't realize they had that in red.

Well you chose an outstanding tie to go with this outfit in both color and texture. I think the light color of the tie does a good job balancing the darker pants. The green in the pocket square, although not matching anything directly, goes great with the brown of the jacket. I love the texture of the jacket too. Material? Maker? Only nitpick is that these seems more like a fall/winter rig than a summer one.

^^ I think that looks fine for summer. The shade and texture of that jacket looks appropriate to me.

To wear linen trousers is to embrace the wrinkles - trust me, my trousers today are wrinkled, though I think that the wrinkling adds to the ventilation - keeps the fabric off one's skin, to a degree.

Thank you for not saying Herve Villechaize, Ricardo Montalban, or Truman Capote (though all three of those gentlemen are dead, if I remember correctly . . .) .

Lovely breeze blowing through Manhattan. I almost don't mind that it's so hot. Triple linen again. Note to self: pull up socks.

    Thanks, guys.

Did I mention I didn't have to do a stitch of alterations to the suit?

Considering the number of fits that Orgetorix has thrifted, and their quality, I seriously think that he is expert at finding gentlemen in the Louisville area with large wardrobes, in his size, whom he then poisons, and advises the widows as to which charity shop to donate the deceased's wardrobes.

(Well, maybe not - but it is uncanny :) )

Ok, after a long time lurking am I now to post my first fit pic here on Styfo. If it gets well received then I'll post some older outfits.

The jacket is a vintage cotton db jacket from the 1920s and the tie is made by me.

@Orgetorix - Looks great, buddy! Even better that it was all thrifted.

Something a bit more summery for me today:

    Same one/colour, IIRC. It's a kind of burgundy-red.

Yeah, it was because the tie went so well that I decided to wear it at the last minute; seemed a shame not to, given how nicely it complemented the other colours. Thanks!

I had the same initial reservations about the colour scheme... but the weather was changeable today, with mixed sun & showers, so it didn't seem too bad a choice. Also, the jacket and tie are both summery materials (linen Suitsupply in the Havana cut for the jacket, and a silk/linen tie). The trousers, being brushed cotton are a bit autumnal, but of a light enough weight that I tend to actually wear them mostly on changeable spring/summer days.
