What an elegant look... And now I want a grey check suit. My only reservation is whether I would get enough mileage out of it.

If you have any reason to wear suits then yes, yes you would.

Hell yeah! One of the most versatile suits in my book. If you're not in a line of business that forces you to dress very conservatively (read nothing but charcoal and navy suits), this is a great suit to have.

Sharp as always, but I especially liked the cufflinks.

"Troppo" is Italian, "de trop" is French, but both mean "too much".

As for today's cufflinks, I like them a lot, but find that they're impossible to wear with double-cuffed shirts made for the US market - the buttonholes in the sleeves for cufflinks are smaller on US-market shirts than UK-market - more than likely the fact that in the UK, double-faced cufflinks such as mine today are more the custom than in the US, where toggle backs are more common.

There are simply not enough hours in the day, are there? This poor schlub has to read articles while posing for photos (that he is taking of himself).

seajen, IMO the top half needs something light to tie it in with the trousers. A white linen PS would do fine, but as it is it looks like too much contrast between top and bottom. This is a small nitpick because even on an off day you look amazing.

Thanks, man! I have dark brown shoes on, if that helps and the pants are reading lighter in the photo than IRL - not the off-white they are appearing. All that said, I agree with you. I just always reach for the the light stuff with this jacket and wanted to mix it up.

Thanks for the critique! I think it may be a combination of the iPhone and a mirror pic that is throwing off length of the jacket and pants. The pants actually have a slight break, but I see what you mean about them looking like floating pants.

I felt like the shirt was alright since it wasn't a pattern overload. and I've done solid shirts the past few times I've posted so I wanted to mix it up a bit.

Your recommendation for the square fold I definitely agree with, I was having a hell of a time getting all of the edges to line up and eventually gave up to go with this since it was easier [IMG]

    Thanks again!

Wow, impressive collection of fits today. Caustic Man, have you posted a fit with that jacket before? Reminds me of an Isaia I've long coveted and generally looks awesome on you.

I wore this a little bit ago for a senior seminar presentation (so it wasn't technically what I was wearing today) and was hoping for a general opinion on the combination of the suit, shirt, and tie (without starting an unnecessary new thread). My girlfriend didn't like it, but my roommate thought it was OK and he and I both work in men's retail.

Early start, early finish then some shoe purchases successfully smuggled in under the nose of the Duchess :smarmy:

Hmmm brown shoes might have ties it together better but I'd have to see it I guess

    .

Thanks, it's Hickey Freeman. Yes I've worn it once before, although it's been tailored since the last time I wore it.
