1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

The white sport socks are either a touch of genius or an aesthetic oversight. I'm inclined towards believing that it's the former,

For today, I will illustrate the dangers of the Internet - more specifically, Facebook. Below is a photo taken October 1, 2009, which was thrown back at me on FB courtesy of Throw Back Thursdays. As I am hitting a landmark birthday soon (next Monday will mark 60 years of earthly existence), I thought that the measure of change over the last six years would be interesting. I'm wearing the same suit and hat, but different glasses, shirt, tie and shoes. Perhaps an improvement, but I will leave that to the viewer to decide.

    Suit - BBGF
    Shirt - BB MTM
    Tie - BB
    PS - Robert Talbott
    Cufflinks - Turnbull & Asser
Shoes - Magnanni for Bergdorf Goodman
    Hat - Selentino

agree with previous post, this outfit would be excellent with different shoes.....I think it cries out for a pair of chukkas (such as suede john varvatos or other more version of a chukka boot)

Really stunning. A textbook example of how to wear fine tailoring on a Sunday that is slick and formal, and yet not too businesslike.

Ha - I was just thinking what a great suit and beautifully shined shoes, but a shame about the awful tie... looks like the kind of fabric that works much better as PS IMHO. Hermes, @Crat ? In any case, not my cup of tie.

Scruffy Crusty looks like he is up to no good, or at least being a bit mischievous.

Agreed. It's clear I need some navy birdseye in my life.

Crusty is always up to no good - Scruffy Crusty was just more open about it. :satisfied:

Not sure if this should go here or in the casual WAYWRN, but here it is.

Rainy day at an art fair this weekend. Still found some excellent pieces to take home! This is a new Washington jacket from SuSu, I'm quite impressed with the fit and the fabric, no alterations.

SeƱor Crust, your former self wins this comparo on the strength of the outdoor setting which shows off the suit to much better effect. Your present self prevails in the facial hair category, though. :)

The facial fur was attractive enough, back in the day when it was naturally brown, but it got to the point, at the end, to need dyeing on a very regular basis, so I opted to look younger by being clean-shaven.
