X-post from FC, probably more CM casual than regular WAYWRN:

not sure that style of waste with pleats works well with sneakers. also looks like, beyond the intentional high rise, the pants seem to be pulled up too high judging by the crotch...

Thanks, Pliny! It was in fact you who inspired me to purchase that tie.

Ok. I've listened to all of you and tried to match with what I have. Is this a bit better?

Tie is 2.5" wide. The only 3" tie I have at the moment didn't seem to fit this outfit.

@StylishDad, I think you would look better in a jacket with wider lapels and a lower buttoning point. It may just be the picture, but you appear to be wider in the hips and/or waist. The button position on the jacket you're wearing here makes them look wider; just my opinion.

Also listen to the advice given about your ties, they are too narrow for your face. I would also consider a wider spreading collar

Whoa, I may be too young to even know the movie (even though I'm 34) but wow, that is just awesome style there. Clean, simple and a 3/2 to boot. I guess I've never studied Cary Grant but I guess I have to now.

There is hardly a Cary Grant, James Stewart, James Mason, Gregory Peck (to name but a few "period" stars) film, you can go wrong with. Actually missing out on those is a gap in basic education, IYAM.
North By Northwest, Charade, Houseboat, Indiscrete, Operation Petticoat, To Catch A Thief, those are just a very few basic CG ones. There are lots more.

@The Noodles
Edit:
Thank you for the pm, dude. That shows great character. All good with me and if you are up to it, I hope we can have a beer or two when you are in Seoul next time.

I like the pants + sneakers myself, but I can understand if it's not in everyone's taste. You're righht about the trousers, I hiked them up, since they're just half an inch longer than ideal. I am quite certain they will sit just right after a washing though.

Wish I could pull off high rise pants like you, Eric. Trying with Eidos Sal's but am in two minds whether to return, or not.
