Those are the pants that came with. Greg was only able to do trouser swaps with their initial Formosa order when the shop opened. Wonder if braces would do anything to help...?

Thanks for the compliment....you too Elio. I love this tie, but rarely wear it. My one and only Drakes. I think that will be the Murl pose from now on....should be able to post regularly soon.

It's a great tie, and a great SC too. Eidos/Isaia? My initial thought was Formosa but the lapel's wrong.

Thanks. It's actually 1/2 of a suit from Suit Supply. Roma cut that they stopped making a few years ago.

Its not a design style - its a specific maker that actually has a patent on the design due to its innovative "inside-out" construction that makes them incomparably comfortable. It is a huge part of the reason that people are so devoted to them and, until recently, travelled from all over the world to their tiny shop on the upper east side to get them. Various different companies (Rubinacci via Farfalla, Bowtie, Fabio) have copied the look without implementing the construction technique, which, to me, negates a major reason to wear them in the first place.

Looks like we learn something new everyday. I sincerely thought it was just a design style. Thanks for the information.

^^ Fit and textures are great, but I feel like the brown in the trousers, tie, and (brown-ish effect of the) square are too close. It might be the photo or my screen, and in real life they're distinct and complementary.

I almost included the qualifier "languages which use the Roman alphabet" because I suspected some smart-ass would say something like this... :)

Absolutely, and I would ask the same on a French-language forum. It's just a weird phenomenon to me. Like "translating" someone's name. Joseph doesn't become José just because he's in Spain...

In the first pic, tie and pants look sufficiently differentiated to my eye. And the close up appears to show a fair amount of red in the square, so I have no problem there. Love it.
