1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

White, and lots of it. The blue and brown in the jacket are not at all muted. It's a very light fit. Bright colors doesn't have to mean the colors of fruit, it simply means something other than dark.

    White isn't a color, it's a value.

The blue and brown are muted, but even if they weren't, tan/brown pants and a white shirt are plenty neutral. Plus the field of the jacket is cream. The pattern is loud, but the colors aren't.

I never said anything was loud, that's where I think you are confusing things. The whole fit is bright. Bright like a light bulb, bright like a summer day. This cannot be explained away. Bright fit plus bright orange tie = CM suggesting a different tie. Live wid it!

Olive tie FTW. Works also best with the shoes, I'd guess.
(For non-native speakers: what does 'reindeer games' mean?)

Enjoyed only by a specific clique - and often makes no sense to those outside that clique.

I think (and I could be wrong) the etymology is linked to Rudolf the red-nosed reindeer. Hence the insider-outsider divide.

There is definitely an aspect of that in it, yes. Does come from Rudolph if I'm correct. The other reindeers won't let him play their reindeer games, but when he becomes a bigger person (reindeer?) he realizes the games were stupid anyway.

I think you're referencing a non-existent orthodoxy. You're free to dress by this principle, but the notion that a "bright" outfit should have a subdued tie is hardly canon.

I never suggested it was. My advice is entirely my own opinion. Opinion that I believe to be grounded in hard won experience and background, but opinion nonetheless. I stand by my advice and I think it would have elevated your fit as evidenced by my photoshop attempts. You are free to disregard these suggestions (at your own peril IMO).

Also, I'm beginning to think a thread entirely of photoshopped fit suggestions might be interesting. Reindeer games indeed...

The last man to go down that path has blood feuds with a small New York boutique, an international French luxury goods house, and a Neapolitan "trouser artisan."

Ugh! I forgot about that thread. I don't want to be associated with anything called "foofing".

Noice. Collar is a bit too cutaway for a sports jacket fit imo, but fit is elegant all the same.
I generally admire and seek to emulate your sprez, but the white shirt really is the odd man out here, particularly with a casual red silk knit. IMO
Lose the tie or change the shirt for blue perhaps.. The saturated top block v the earthy southside worries me too, but I don't have a proper sense of the whole from the 2 pics.
    Damn nice SC
