I dont get the tie tucking, but the hands in pockets doesnt bother me. I would actually rather have both than robo posing! ;)

Tie tucking is neither timeless nor classic.

I don't either. It seems like just through natural movements the tie would be getting pulled as one was more upright or twisting and then be all loose when one sat down and would require constant re-tucking. IDK, aside from the fact it just looks goofy it seems a bit impractical. I've seen it in Ralph Lauren ads so that about sums it up for me.

I hear you folks. I don't much go for rigid poses; I have a similar preference for action pictures of kids over studio portrates. The hands in the pockets though disrupt the pleasing lines of a jacket. I actactually like the way hands look on pants pockets, especially with a DB jacket.

Cary Grant (in "Holiday") shows both how to button a three button jacket and how to put one's hands in one's pockets back in that wonderful world before the internet was invented, which led to the invention of all sorts of bizarre "rules" about wearing men's clothing......(remember, it's your clothing, you paid for it, and you can do whatever you want with it).

Not sure you are familiar with my relationship with those words in this forum.

Neither are Pantone-orange linen ties with frayed tips, for that matter, but that doesn't mean they aren't awesome sometimes.

Tira hates the expression "timeless and classic." So much so that he reads these words when none say them. Or imply them. Or reference them.

    I think it's SF ptsd.

Probably as much as I hate "three/four pattern bingo!"
