Happy Friday. My first post. I feel like my pants are too long as are the sleeves and jacket length but what are your thoughts on the square and tie combo?
thanks for having me I have enjoyed looking at all of your posts.

Welcome to the forum, AJ. It looks like you camera was out of focus because the picture is really blurry. Hard to make out the tie and PS.

You can dress like this. You're not forced into CBD, but your position allows you to wear suits, or sport coats, whenever you feel like it.

Today is the debut of my newest jacket--appropriate, since it seems to be a day for checks and glen plaids.

To square or not to square? My impulse is toward a paisley or something similar in green or blue, but I don't have a really coherent idea yet as to how it would work.

That's the best fitting jacket I've seen on you to date. Though I might have forgotten some. Also, I want to second someone's earlier comments about your progress.

Whatever colors/patterns you decide on for the square, I'd make the square muted given the loudness of the jackets pattern. (Something like a dusty, dark olive would be nice)

Thanks very much--that's quite high praise coming from you. This one's a Tipo from Eidos that's been nipped just a touch in the waist. I agree with your assessment; nothing else I own fits this well save possibly a spring/summer jacket from Isaia.

I want to give the Lorenzo model from NMWA a try, but me and the Tipo are pretty good friends...

Square advice sounds good; time to browse some retailers.

That Shibumi tie is really nice, I think I need to get one myself.

@GMMcL I love the color combinations and patterns you've chosen. @heldentenor I agree that it is a nice fitting jacket. The sleeves need to be shortened and tapered but everything else looks nice.

Is the square Yellow Hook as well? Very nice combo! (If not, who makes the square?)

Yeah, I think the bit of rippling in the sleeve is either the arms being a bit too long or the shirt I'm wearing (or a+b). Will investigate.

I would be surprised if it's the shirt. Sleeve linings generally prevent things like that. I'm no expert though so I could be wrong.
