I love oxford cloth. I have a number of spreads in it. Just not a fan of button downs. But seriously. Love oxford. I'd be happy only wearing it.

I concur with the awesomeness of oxford spreads. I only have two myself, but they fill a gap when traditional spreads are too formal, and OCBD is not necessary. I often wear them with bow ties.

Well played with that tie GMMcL. I've commented before (and I can't remember if it was something I picked up explicitly or implicitly while reading whnay's good taste thread) that the key to making large scale patterned ties work is to wear them with a vest (preventing the scale of the pattern from dominating the outfit)

Count me as another Oxford weave lover.

Oxford cloth has such a lot of tasteful visual interest to it without being in-your-face that it’s a shame to think it needs to be limited to button-down collars (although of course it’s perfect for those, too).

    Cheers,

    Ac

    Thank you sir.
Pre SF, I used to wear odd vests a lot more. But I've simplified so I can get back to basics and elevate my game one step at a time.
And I totally agree re: loud tie/waistcoat. In fact, I'd go one step further and say its truly symbiotic: A waistcoat (a solid colored one, anyway) demands a stronger pattern tie underneath just as much as the strong pattern demands something to weigh it down.

Yesterday. Black watch, baby. I think a navy tie may have been better, but I'm digging the green too.

I would have worn blackwatch today if I hadn't gotten snowed in. I'll always feel intimidated knowing you're watching though!
