Yo, why is everybody killing it with winter whites today? Did I miss a memo?

I tried a bow-tie with this in the morning, but it barely made it out of the car. Luckily, I ate lunch at home today, so I got a do-over with the ascot.

You know, in the part of the country where I grew up cords were very much a cold weather, F/W thing; I’m not sure I’ve ever even *seen* a white pair in real life.
Winter White trousers in flannel and corduroy have been worn by gents for well over a century; the latter much longer.

I believe I hit the jackpot in the SF SO department. Not only does Erica encourage my interest in menswear, she goes to Pitti (and other menswear events) with me.

I'm actually quite frugal though, in SF terms. I don't spend particularly large amounts of money on stuff for myself.

Also, killer SC southernstyle!
I'm pretty much the same way, though Jen is generally more interested in womenswear, and math and stuff. She also goes to Pitti with me. I also don't compared to many, spend all that much on clothing. I used to spend more, but then had kids, and now limit myself to a strict budget. By normal people standards, the budget is rather high, of course. I enjoy spending money to look like I just got into a streetfight.

I actually enjoy more getting things for Jen. Womenswear is a whole different, and vastly more complicated, world.

Every time that someone says "Robo Pose" I always wonder, is this a "Robo Pose"?

Hey Noodle-man,

I don't think your wife is that much of a hard ass. You've bought a whole lot of really expensive suits, ties et c within a relatively short time span. Is it possible she's just worried about you becoming obsessed about this stuff? I mean, you did tell us you checked SF when going out to dinner with her.

Sorry not to have posted before, but my afternoon and evening were taken up with six hours of "Die Meistersinger" at the English National Opera. I survived - a major accomplishment. Lunch with Cleav is always a delight. I highly recommend the experience.
