Still too hot to start wearing warmer fabrics but *damn* I wanted to wear that tie. So I went ahead anyway...

Haven't posted here in a while...but here's something interesting - Joyce, our Hong Kong fashion retailer was having this popular style vote competition and I thought it would be a hoot if classic menswear got voted in :D . Here's my photo in my blue vintage English cloth (w/ oddly no selvedge to identify). Wool knit tie.

Good to have you back, Mike, but as one who is trying to get a better grip on pattern matching, I have to ask if the stripes in that shirt aren't too similar in scale to stripes in that suit.

While AJV's gingham jacket looks good on him......I strongly dislike gingham - it always reminds me of a tablecloth on a picnic table in Kentucky or the picninc scene from "Oklahoma"..... Sorry, gents...

Me of the curtains in my mother's kitchen in the seventies (orange-white), but I love gingham.

all sorts of awesome
Thank you.
Dig looking good man. Comfort > aesthetics. Can't tell it's vibram from the photos. ndw this is much better than that ultra-popular flecked purple tie and grey striped flannel suit you had on a few pages back that people went nuts for. Both of those pieces are nice on their own and with other items, but not together. Today is a much more harmonious look.

You know what? I agree with this. It might seem a little sad, but I have trying to work out for a couple of days why I didn't share the general opinion on ndw's previous fit. I couldn't work out what it was that others were seeing that I wasn't, so I said nothing, but it is basically what you say here. I loved the components, but not in combination, in fact while the textures were awesome, I didn't think the colour of the tie worked with the jacket at all. This time, the components, the texture, colour, are almost perfect.
Thanks for the critique. I agree the donegal purple tie and gray combo wasn't anything special, but I do like purple and gray together. And, Flying monkey - you should not take this website too seriously and really just pick and choose what you like and not what others go crazy for.
Another new suit. What do you think? Aside from a few small tweaks, I'm extremely happy with it.

I like it. Tonight. Same old. Tie is dark green.
