Agreed and I'm always jealous of those who have several black tie events to attend each year. Last year I went to a New Year party and that was it, even then dinner jackets were seen on about 5-10 percent of the men, just enough to not seem anachronistic.

Doesn't my previous post entirely agree with your statement? My problem is with his condescending attitude.

Very well stated, and I agree with it all.

The condescending attitude is critical aspect of this thread. Read back a few pages.

I am guessing you got it either at Men's Wearhouse or Macy's. Am I correct?

exactly. it's the equivalent to working buttonholes or canvas lining in shoes. it's been a privilege to bespoke "long" time ago. this young folks often have a lack of basic knowledge hence the half assed comments. it's nobodies fault, anyway.

    Someone sounds butt-hurt.

Whether the tie was actually cheap or not is irrelevant. It looks cheap. Not to mention that, judging by that tie, your definition of 'cheap' and this forum's are probably far apart.

lol. I don't have much to say, the tie looks ugly, it looks like it's from Macy's or JCPenny etc. If you can't take the occasional hard criticism then don't post.

Try to learn from it, we want you to do better that's why we're telling you our opinions. It'd be fucked up if we told you it looks good but it really looked like shit.

I certainly have no issue with OTR....and in fact I have given much advice to young men just starting out here not "in the know" to shop at Macy's. But the tie is butt-ugly and I know he did not get it at Brooks Brothers, or even Jos. A Bank for that matter. And I would never have responded in that way were he not a Newbie with a serious attitude problem. Perhaps you should wade through my previous posts and see how many times I have swooped in and helped Newbies here when the MTMafia has told a 22 year-old fresh out of college that if they did not spend at least a grand on their interview suit they would have no hopes of getting a job....or when a young groom on a budget is told not to rent formalwear under any circumstances, etc.

I'm 30 and also approve of this message. Also, idk if it's just because your arm is lifted to hold the camera, but the collar of the jacket maybe could fit better. Also for my tastes the lapels of the jacket are kinda narrow, but I guess that's kind of in these days.

Oh ho ho...you are so high classed and styled. This sort of game is silly and calling anything cheap is pedestrian. Anyways, if you want to play the who's cheaper game, we can play, you will probably lose and then you won't like the game anymore. How many pairs of Lobbs do you have? How many times have you woken up next to christie turlington?

Not to nitpick, but isn't it chrisTY turlington? Jeeez, at least remember how to spell her name if you're going to spend all those mornings waking up next to her.

You're the one who sounds butt-hurt. You keep trying to intervene when my comments were not even directed at you.

Don't you know that the internet is serious business?

She forgets the spelling of her name sometimes too. Models aren't exactly academics. Other than that, you bore me, and I have to scold Cindy Crawford for ruining my toast. I used to wake up next to her long ago but now I just have her make me toast. Who makes you toast? Your non-model spouse or girlfriend. Yes, I thought so.

Toast? Usually make it myself. I save the models for the lawn work.
