Doc is one of the more subtle and succinct posters here. He also has mastered the more intangible aspects of dressing. Self awareness and editing. He doesn't swing at anything that isn't over the plate. Perhaps your judgement is askew here.

i tried to downplay it in the pictures i posted
but i guess there is no hiding it

here are two different suits in full length
    [IMG][IMG]
the one on the right is what i am wearing today and pictured earlier
so yes, there is bigger "flare" on today's suit
it's a problem in the cut of the suit then?

does it look like it could be something that can be altered and fixed?

ahh .. the suit on the left is center single vent
the suit on the right is double vented
    could that be the problem?

I don't wade into this thread very often, mostly because I think an overwhelming majority of you all dress terribly, but if I could pull off a casual suit look, this is how I would want it to look.

Since, I have not even seen this sort of problem, I am at a loss to offer any suggestions to solve the issue. I think despos best qualified, just if he would leave docholliday's gaze for a moment.

Your jacket might be too tight at the natural waist, which might be the cause, but I am uncertain.

Too soon, Chris, too soon! Now you've revealed yourself as one of us. And unfortunately for you, that means your Moody's rating is going to get downgraded.

P.S., the check is in the mail.

The point isn't what I know but what you don't know and this being a clothing forum i am still waiting to see some of illuminating insights of dressing from you that are more than giggles.

I know much less than my tailor, that is for certain. I know little of the technical details of what he does with my clothing, but why would I need to know? Unless, I have a sudden interest in making suits myself, I admit, I wouldn't even care to know. I am a mere consumer of bespoke, that does not make me an expert in fit and construction. That would be your purpose, no?

    probably didn't see my edit

do you think the suit on the left is showing the same problem?
or is it just the right?

the left suit is single vented
    right suit is double vented
that is probably making the difference in the drape

Chai tea = delicious. I drink mine the way they do in India, requires a bit of prep but I put it in a flask and take it to work.

DerekS reminds me of spoo sometimes. However, DerekS silhouette does need a little tweaking

spoo, FWIW, i think it's fine to temper moderately wacky with semi-sober. your shoes are not the ones i would have chosen... but in concept, i agree with your approach. it's not as though you're wearing thick pink pinstripes or something similarly outre.

it's all-out wacky that needs to be complemented with wackiness all around - you can't stick one toe into costume and the other into CBD. but i don't think your suit falls into the category of costume at all. if you work in a creative field, it's probably not too far left of center, and you wouldn't want to push the envelope to the point that you become costume cannon-fodder for The Sartorialist. which is i think where you'd end up if you went for full-on wacky.

This week is like the 3rd time of visited this thread all year and have been her for 30 or 40 pages.

I think Bravo has a new series here. Top Dresser!

Start with 15 guys from styleforum. Give them a budget and an occasion to dress for. They walk down a run way and get torn apart or cheered by Tim Gunn and then kissed and booted off by Heidi. Season 2, AAAC, Season 3 LL. Season 4 Fedora lounge and then the Master Dressers series begins with inter league competition.
