I find Bulimia is cheaper than a massive re-tailoring.

Whatsamatter JJ?????? Didya flunk out of charm school or sumpin'??????? I'm having a hard time taking you seriously. So much puffery. So little substance. Unless I've missed some critical element of your discourse so far I think it's fare to say that your contribution to this thread is pretty limited. It appears to me that so far you've made some partially valid critiques of just two fits and not much else. That's a lotta posts for not much content.........................what else you got that matters?

I think 1 and 3 are pretty easy to ignore, but 2 has really taken over the forum in a bad way. One reason is insufficient attention to the fundamentals, which iammatt has been addressing as of late. Another is that people have weird concepts of what looks stylish. I think it's always an error to try to emulate photos, films, etc. from decades ago. It's fine insofar as a tailor draws inspiration from one ancient school over another, but individuals need to be able to draw from a broad vocabulary in order to find what best suits their lifestyle, personality, environment, physique, budget, etc.

SF is becoming a weird hybrid of AAAC and Pitti - a bunch of people who spend a lot of time thinking of clothes, but end up looking pretty bad and getting reinforced by their peers (ironically even by the guys who are objectively great dressers, like iammatt, Parker, etc). When I started posting here a few years ago, SF was basically the top place on the internet to read about MC type clothes. Now, the best dressing takes place on tumblrs. I'm thinking of yours, PG, the Armoury guys, cravate noir, sterling gilette, etc. This forum has now become amateur hour. When I challenged iammatt's ranking of luftvier as the #1 dresser on this site, I was hoping to contribute to a recalibration of standards here, which would have to begin by recognizing that a guy like luftvier is just not impressively dressed by any real world standards, no matter how textbook perfect his fit is. By the way, I do feel bad for picking on the guy, but seriously when you have all these old timers in your corner who cares what some random no name lurker thinks.

In matt's defense, not that he needs it, he didn't say I was #1 dresser. Rather, a consistent regular contributor.

    I certainly don't think I'm A1.

It's interesting to read this thread from back-to-front , trying to figure who first pissed on whom (and who's involved in the sycophantic handjobbing...)

Vox, you may be right about many posters here. But... what brought me here was a desire to educate myself such that I could feel comfortable when dressing for the different occassions that present themselves during life. Sometimes I feel like I fell down a rabbit hole. But lately things are looking up. I attribute to the onset of Autumn. :slayer:

Thanks to all for the help, inspiration, banter and enrichment.
