I'd switch the socks to loafer socks. Other than that, this is an awesome casual look. Shoe details?

WTF, son, since when are Tom Ford loafers not "keeping up"?

I didn't quite understand that comment either, regardless of who made the shoes. I thought it was a well balanced, relatively pattern-free fit. Sugarbutch, can you expand a bit?

I took it more as that the loafers & trousers were fairly anonymous compared to the patters and mix of colours on the top half of the outfit.

Green beige brown, thats it (neutral blue base) - and only the SC and a peek of a PS had a pattern?

I think the issue with Spoo's fit today is simply a matter of the difference of what photographs perfectly as opposed to what looks great IRL.

Specifically, suede shoes. When photographing an overall fit suede shoes tend to come off as simply dull/flat. But in real life they come off as rich, luxurious, and even shimmering.

When I go back and look at the photo of Spoo today I can see how the photograph might have looked better with a polished leather loafer - as this would bring some additional interest and sheen to the look in the fit. However, in real life I'm certain those loafers provided plenty of contrast/sheen.

Just my overly wordy 2 pence worth.

Its appreciated. I intentionally went for suede because my whole fit was matte - cashmere blazer, shantung tie, non glossy silk PS, linen blend pants. Shiny leather would have been contradictory, so I tried to harmonize. I was up early, had some time to plan. :)

Pendulum and Gdot basically summed it up, although the trousers were really the focus of my comment. A richer tone would have done more for me. I probably should have made it clear that I think the fit is fine, but it could (IMO) have been excellent. Carry on. :slayer:

Is that tie from Ed's most recent set of offerings? I passed on it because it looked just a little too bright in his images, but it looks great in yours.

The ocean called for you, Theo. It wants its sponge back.

Since I fully expect to be without electricity for a couple of days as Irene pays her visit, I'm going to post tomorrow's fit today. See you on the other side of the power outage, gentlemen.

Well balanced outfit, with a touch of uniqueness and elegance. The Upper half from cuffs to neck = excellent. The part encompassing the shoes, there is something I cannot put my finger on - I do not dislike them, but they occupy a strange territory of being casual penny loafers yet at the same time present themselves as the sleek and contemporary Italian loafer. Maybe I am just not used to the Italian style loafer.
