Love the suit (I have something vaguely similar - yours is nicer), and as for the tie, any lightly lined tie with a relatively wide blade for the narrow end of the tie will knot like that - a double FIH with a Charvet will look very similar (if gaudier than your tie of today, RG).

    Looks good on you

I've got to hook up with this tailor. If I were FredH, you'd definitely get a song today.

Cheers guys, PM me if you want more info, I'll be glad to reco.

The weather is only just beginning to clear here in NYC, and even with sunshine, it is not supposed to go higher than the mid-50's. I broke out a suit I've not worn in a while, and it's a shade large on me - it may make a visit to the tailor soon for some adjustments.

    FWIW, then . . .

Very nice. Only suggestion would be a less exuberant PS fold. In the context of this fit, the color already jumps out; I think a loose square fold with edges shown would be sweet.

I spent 20 minutes trying to tie this unlined, 9 foot long Panta....so if someone comments on my knot, you better not open any packages for the next month or so. [IMG]

    Have a good one,

    Mike

Umbrella is JCrew, a short one

Me too, I'm down another 5 lbs...160 soaking wet.

    Today:

I covet that suit. It's awesome. I drool every time you post it. Congrats on the weight loss. I myself am doing Insanity to get ripped. One thing, though. Let your hair grow a li'l. You don't want to get the "Philadelphia" (movie) jokes. Until your skin shrinks again, you'll look a bit jaded and the shaved head wont help.

I'm a huge PG fan and would DTO 90% of his fits if my job required suits/sportcoats. But, this one falls in the other 10%. I think it's the juxtoposition of the formality of the pindot tie and the relative casualness of the windowpane suit. To me, the sum of its parts exceeds the whole.

    ..
Not digging the tie. I've been meaning to comment on what I presume are new-ish glasses; I really like them and think they suit you quite well. I much prefer them over what you wore before.

    ..
What's with that kno... [IMG] Always dig your fits.
