I love that square myself, but I honestly don't know what I was thinking when I tried matching it with that jacket. (I was probably too busy dressing the kids to think about it at all.)

This is pretty much what you'd hope/expect to see from someone working in men's clothing. Pattern-intensive and very eye-catching, but not egregiously so. Definitely "fit for purpose".

Fun tie; what's the pattern, I can't quite make it out on my screen?

Doing a bit of teaching today so...

Amazing advice! Many thanks!

Yeah, a different color, solid shirt would be much better. Thanks!

Nothing, just my granite-like physique underneath. Seriously though, not sure, maybe just my posture for the photo, the fabric is quite light.

Look at Mr.K's summer fits for ideas... also consider a casual belt like a woven/braided or colorful ribbon d-ring belt.

Thanks for the input. My initial thought was a white shirt, which seemed kind of dull. I thought the med-grey - as opposed to another light color -would contrast the light-blue well and the check would liven it up a bit. I see what you're saying about the shirt v. the shoes though.

This is the most "dressed up" I've been since the school year ended. Thought I should capture it for posterity.
