1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

I really like that Tie Sir Cleav! Yes I knighted you. It may be unofficial but you deserve it for the help you've given me. :slayer:

You're very kind dear Jung. Please don't underestimate your own contribution here, certainly to me.

I'm sure though , aside your investiture, I shall remain a commoner!

Nice to see such a pleasant tone around here too, phew!

I was in Court today (professionally) hence the garb, something of its own uniform in that domain.

I don't know what the tradition/rule is, on this, but I like my coats to cover my sleeves, for the practical purpose of keeping them clean and dry.

An interesting question. My preference is for a bit of jacket to show from under the coat just as I like (and as is conventional) a bit of shirt to show from under the jacket. I like the layers to be seen.

Sadly, that represents my aspirations, not my accomplishments more often than not.

    Cheers,

    Ac

From a practical (and I believe traditional, or at least mainstream) perspective, overcoat sleeves aren't like jacket sleeves in terms of it being desirable to reveal layers beneath; they should really cover the jacket & shirt sleeve. However, cutting them short like Braddock has always been frequent enough - and especially these days, when the outfit underneath is often cut similarly short - not to be a particular issue. I do agree with both of FlyingMonkey's posts upthread about a) preferring a calf shoe in that look, and b) it being one of the best fits in this thread in a very long time.

Bow-tie day today. Forgot a square, but when I took the photo and noticed that omission, I actually liked the effect so didn't add one.

thanks for the kind words everyone - we had a bit of a scare at the first scan, which showed a slight ( very slight) risk of Downs syndrome so we decided to have some fancy dna bloodtesting done in California, just to be certain that everything is ok. Just got the good news today :)The last two weeks have been quite nerve racking especially for my wife.
Next big worry is that we need a bigger flat and I need to curb my kopping

I don't check this thread that often, so sorry for these late words of support, but having been through the exact same situation I feel your pain brother. Best to you and your family, and glad things worked out well.
