I have one.... What about the lighting? Indoors with the flash always comes out bad If you have one you should use it. Self mirror shots are nearly always bad. For lighting why not just go outside like a lot of SFers seem to do? If that isn't an option and you're not a fan of flash, set the camera (with tripod) up in a room which has the most natural light. Then choose a wider aperture and slow shutter speed. This will allow the lens to capture more light. You MUST remain extremely still during the shot though, or else your photos will be blurry.
