Unfortunately, although I am sure it is a very nice coat, I agree with @sugarbutch . The jacket is just too suity to wear with odd trousers. Almost anything with a vertical stripe in it, other than true boating blazers and maybe certain Ivy-tastic tweeds, will look like one half of a suit. And please don't pair this with jeans, the discord in formality is too much.

That jacket is really great, but I wonder if this is one of the few instances where gray trousers are not the optimum choice. Could be different IRL though.

Realized too late that the scale of the shirt pattern had a clashing problem with the vertical stripes of the jacket:

I just realized I was talking about a post from a few days ago, with a purple tie. But I really like your most recent one, too.

cotton D, those trou look beige to me. i think you just need more contrast, could be a different color gray or brown, just needs more contrasting with the SC imo.

Dye it navy and put on horn buttons. Go over it with sand paper to get a more rugged texture. ;)

I think the combo is very good. Perhaps you just don't like how close the stripe and tie colours are.

Thanks everyone for yesterday. There were some extremely good outfits on these last two pages. Really nice.

today, not my usual choice. not entirely sure if I should like it or if there are too few colours to make it interesting. any thoughts?

I like that a lot. I'm not sure it fits in with SF type groupthink, but I really do like it.

@daDudeson , I can't see a thing wrong with it. You could add more colour, but it is in no way necessary. Definite navy on navy success. You look great; only wish I had a suit that nice.

It looks nice, not every outfit needs colours. It's a bit heavy on the stripes though, with the pinstripe suit, striped shirt and striped tie. A solid shirt or differently patterned tie might work a little better.
