It's indeed a great question, but do you think it would boil down to something like: 'who am I, and who do I want to be?' Your style is a representation of you are as a person, so that question cannot be answered easily for most. Of course I might be thinking in a too abstract manner, and sugar might've meant something entirely different with that question.

to me its not an abstract question. its simply, what were you trying to accomplish, look like when you put that together. was there any thought behind it, was there a reason why these items were paired....

Roger - that's what I meant, yes. But it's marginal even in the pics and they can be misleading; only you know for sure! Maybe run it past the tailors' thread? It's a very serious suit either way, and looks great on you.

Thanks Betelgeuse, and thanks for the follow-up mimo.

The jacket does need a little tweak (very slight roll at the back near the collar) so I will ask my tailor if the issue you mention could be addressed as well. I suspect I know the answer. "You have a fat ass "prominent seat" and taking it in will only emphasize that fat ass feature".

Haha...yes, could be right on the latter issue though not for me to speculate! I have a big collar size and often get the same "collar roll" problem; I hope yours gets fixed to satisfaction. It seems to be something that my local tailors cannot quite get the hang of, and at least one of my suits ended up destroyed as a result.

What do tailors do when they destroy something like that? They don't reimburse you, do they?

Yoo, Roger, Betel, great fits.

Special shoutout to betel - I like the entire combo a lot.

They lose a customer, in my case! But I'm talking about a very low base of skills in this particular market; didn't mean to alarm you! I'm just saying if there's a better guy who costs a few bucks more, go to that one because it's tricky!

Gotcha. Yeah I go down the street to get pants hemmed if needed. But for anything else at all, I drive half an hour away. I don't have a big enough wardrobe yet to make monthly visits so I have to go every week for something if I want to have a full rotation. Sucks. Going tomorrow to bring two sports coats though. Hopefully they don't get ruined, new tailor :)

RIP for your sports coat or suit, whenever that was.

RogerP, the DB looks quite nice. If the picture is accurate, you might consider swapping the buttons for something less starkly contrasting. A quibble to be sure...
