Actually I think the patterned trousers is akin to cheating, especially with a blue sc. It's so easy imo.

everyone said patterned trous would be much harder, but personally I agree...i thought it would be a bit easier. I thnk the solid jacket breaks up the patterns nicely.

I feel the same obviously. I've got some discreet glen plaid trousers that would qualify me, but they are just essentially grey.
Now, If they are a real loud go to hell plaid.......

Well, the main problem with patterned trousers is finding a pair that are tasteful

Otherwise you'll end up looking like.....

My issue is all my tasteful patterned trousers are flannel.

I have a cool pair of cotton patterned trou, but they would only be used to show my ability to match FIVE patterns coherently!
