1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

Not so sure about the pants DonC, but the jacket and the upper part of the outfit is lovely.

I have to say that when I saw the first two photos which show only from the waist up I had unconsciously expected the trousers to have creases. I was therefore surprised when I scrolled down.

I’m curious as to what others think. Is there a consensus on when creaseless trousers are appropriate and when they’re not?

    Thanks.

    Cheers,

    Ac

Anyone know why there is no longer a link to this forum in the "FAQS AND POPULAR THREADS" column on the "CLASSIC MENSWEAR" page? At least in my house it's gone, anyway.

It's like the Eisenhower era where guys wore a jacket and tie to an afternoon baseball game...

No I wish...unfortunately we didn't have much time there. Just enough time for @Synthese to try on a few jackets to see what the deal is.

Two people told me these trousers were a miss with this jacket today. I don't see it as so bad, but I'm not married to the combination, either.

yrr92, if those are chocolate cords they will look better with that jacket if you add an equally dark tie. lighter SCs with darker pants only work well with a dark tie to balance the pants imho...that combo generally doesn't work senza tie...

That might help, but I think the greenish brown doesn't play that well with the warmish cast of some of the jacket. This is one of those weird tweeds that's warm and cool at the same time, kind of.

Also, I never say "only" in clothes.

Gianni Cerutti: very bold and pretty awesome. i think everything would work better (more toned down without losing the boldness) imo with navy pants (which, i know, is hardly ever the case...). so that instead of matching the PS with the trousers, and letting the tie stand out, the tie matches the trousers and you keep the yellow PS and let it stand out (without 'popping'). blue is just better with red than yellow...but it's clear you have worn exactly what you wanted to and it does look great in an over-the-top way!

Went to see "Her" with the Wifey last night and had a chance to break out the new Drake's square from ASW:

I really enjoyed the movie, very interesting styling choices. Made me want to buy more high rise pants.

CP Trousers slightly too short, esp at the rear, where the trousers barely touch the top of the shoes. I generally have the hemming slightly longer at the back than the front. I agree the thighs could be taken in a bit too! It would help create the appearance of a longer leg. If you remove the cuff, ask the tailor to keep in the extra fabric in case you change your mind again (ditto starting with no cuff - you want extra length kept). You're slightly shorter than I am, but with a marginally longer inseam. I prefer 1 1/4 inch cuffs - not SF approved, but they work for me.
I've enjoyed watching your successes with SS.

o/o The brown jacket/brown paisley tie was different. I like.

HF Tie knots earlier this week. I thought it was fine, but you could always try the oriental - I use it for most of my thicker ties. A little practise nets a decent dimple.
