My thoughts exactly on both counts. Although I don't like that the cravat and pocket square match. But for me, half suit/half mangina-jeans is a bad thing, always.

(P.S. you look sharp today, Coxy, very tasteful)

Thanks for the thumbs on yesterday's fit, much appreciated :fistbump:

Today I'm sporting a trifecta of items that are not entirely SF-approved - grey odd jacket, charcoal flannels and a red tie. Let the flaming begin... :hide:

If you took away the cardigan it would be perfect. But you might freeze, and that would be a bad thing. There's nothing wrong with it, it just feels like one thing too many. Maybe if it contrasted more with the rest, and the tie less so. Nit-picking, though. And I like the tie. :)

So now we can't wear a green tie with a blue suit? If we come up with one more "rule" it's going to get to the point where we all dress like the Reservoir Dogs gang.

Thanks, yes I would indeed freeze without the cardigan (it 's no coincidence I used a three-piece yesterday). Seems like our maintenance crew here at the university are reluctant to crank up the indoor heat, even if we're experiencing a cold spell..... :freeze:

I would like to think that there is more contrast between trousers (charcoal) and cardigan (navy) in real life, but that might just be wishful thinking on my behalf....

    HC - very noice.

Pingson - i will reserve judgement because the pants look like a black mass in the full fit, i cant really see the color, or much shape, and i am sure they are not like that. i do like the top block.

Well if we keep on forbidding colors, it is going to go that direction. Or we can wind up looking like Captain Peacock on the sales floor.

Thanks for the comments. I actually have a sneaking suspicion that charcoal trousers (and navy for that matter) don't get much love here just because they are incredibly hard to photograph properly. That said, I can assure that the entire outfit of course is extremely tasteful in real life :smarmy:

That would actually solve a lot of the problems we encounter in this thread.....................

I like this a lot... although the jacket might be a tad short, I dig the fabric and colors you used... :nodding:

I really like this with a different shirt I think. Perhaps a light blue OCBD or spread collar? As it is, I feel that it is one pattern/texture too many. Maybe it's just that the scale of the shirt pattern matching the scale of the jacket texture too closely. Or maybe I just don't like that shirt and all, I'm not sure.

Regardless, I REALLY like everything else.

That was exactly what I tought, when I saw the pics. I like the shirt and now I know it´s better to use it with a plain sports coat.

Stitch, if I may say, your time and dedication have paid off, you have become one of the few posters we really look forward to see what you are going to wear. Just like Spoo, Fox, and a few others. :slayer:

No...even if we all wore a standard Victorian uniform of daytime dress there would still be attacks on fit and tie knot choices and placement...
