Yes, boring as that is, when I'm in a suit, it needs to be rather conservative (I'm a trial lawyer in a conservative locale).

Don't get me wrong, I think your outfit is really nice, it's simply that I wouldn't (couldn't) wear it. The tie is ballin.

Fucking Linen DB. And brown. Jealous it fits. I don't like how high the buttons are but that's pretty minor for an OTR garment. It looks fantastic.

For me it's single breasted, notch lapel, navy suits, light blue shirts, and black shoes during the week as well. That's why I can go all out during the weekends, no one gives a crap what I'm wearing then.
Cheers! Perhaps they could be an inch lower, but any more and it would start looking weird.

    You might be right.

And I think it'd look OK with a really light blue shirt or plain white. No club collar. It looks conflicting for some reason. The jacket isn't quite 'timeless' but it's not pushing the limits of trendy I don't think, where the club collar is a little outdated - enhanced by the contrast difference.

I think you showed everyone how it's done.

Yeah, it's not ideal, but it kind of works. The brown DB has a certain classic feel to it. Had no choice though, all my shirts are at the drycleaners, only have some casual shirts that are clean. Have been a little lazy the past few weeks when it comes to laundry.

I'm scared for when I receive my linen shirts. So much work. And they're machine washable so no point in taking them to the dry cleaners.

Jester, I think the buttons are pretty low compared to the current trend in RTW DB's, in fact their position seems rather ideal to me...

Don't worry about your linen shirts, they wrinkle like hell but are much easier to iron than some poplins.

So what's the thoughts on wearing a silver / dove gray waistcoat with stroller? Is that an acceptable variation to the standard, or seen as some kind of aberration? I ask because I just think black on black jacket and waistcoat, especially for daytime, looks very severe particularly if the occasion is a daytime summer wedding or similar.

Dove gray is fine, probably the most common in all but the occasions I mention.

    Silver, no way!

Tobias - Very nice combo! Is that button down shirt bespoke or vintage from the good old days?

everytime I wear this shirt, people ask me this :D
It's made by Arrow but I never seen it again. That's why i consider to send this shirt to Luxire, so they will make me more shirts with this very nice BD Collar!

You should take that as a compliment, the collar roll and shape is very pleasing. Not something you see on standard RTW shirts:)

I take it as a compliment, for sure! I really love the collar although I'm more a cutaway collar guy.
