Very good idea. Navy would also work well.

Might be the last time wearing this linen suit; I've never been 100% happy with the fit, so have a new one on the way. If that one works out, I'll probably be selling this.

If anyone's interested in buying it, it's Ede & Ravenscroft MTM, I think the linen is Harrisons, and I'll probably be looking for something around the £220 mark if you'd like to take it off my hands (bit more for international shipping). It's approximately a traditionally fitting 36S; if anyone is seriously interested, PM me & I'll take some measurements. The new one should arrive either later this week or next, so I won't be selling this one until I'm sure that one's better, but if you want to get in ahead of the official classified ad, get in touch.

    Anyway:

The tie is Drakes and the suit is bespoke
I'm guessing any non F/W colors will work in the context of a light grey suit, right? Perhaps adding brown as an option.

I can certainly sympathise with that, as I just bought a new pair of lovely shoes myself. Heck, I'd wear them to bed if only my wife allowed it :D

In fact, if you're talking about light grey suits in general, I'd wager every dark (tasteful) tie will go with it.

That is the first time in these fora that I've been accused of being between the ages of 10 and 13. Never have I been so flattered, though I would strongly suggest that you see a qualified opthamologist, regardless of my youthful mien. :nodding:

LOL, no need for an opthamologist at this point. I've already been condemned to wearing "readers". In spite of my compromised vision, I can still see that you have an enviable assortment of suits/shirts/ties/cufflinks/shoes, etc. and more than enough style to coordinate them quite well.

However, you still have too much hair to gain entry into the club. I'll check back again when you've reached say, 15 or 16.

    Cheers!

It might not be CBD, but I felt like wearing a bold tie for a change. It's slightly darker in real life though.

    Monkeyface,

Nothing wrong with the tie per say, but I'm not sure how well it works with the rest of your outfit. It certainly seems a bit narrow for the lapels of your suit.

It's a 3.5" wide seven-fold, and it's actually slightly wider than my lapels!

Yeah, me too. The furthest I can deviate from CBD atm is by wearing bold ties from time to time, and brown shoes on casual Friday. My wardrobe is seriously lacking conservative items though. But then again, you can only have so many navy suits and blue ties before they'll all start looking like each other anyways. I wouldn't mind having a slightly lighter than navy suit and a couple of extra EG Cappelli ties though.
