After hibernating at home, in total deshabille, avoiding the howling winds and rain of Sandy, I emerged this evening to take my partner out for his birthday dinner at Jean-Georges (which was quite a repast). He is something of a camera aficianado, so it took little effort for me to persuade him to take a few shots of me dressed as I was for dinner out.

    Suit - New & Lingwood
    Shirt -Lewin
    Tie - Charvet
    Cufflinks - Niletti Creations
    Braces - Lewin
Watch chain - vintage, with modern replacement watch
    Shoes - C & J
    Overcoat - JAB
    Scarf - Paul Stuart
    Hat - Selentino

Holdfast and Crust departing from their poses is scaring me a little bit.

Side note: have either of you thought about making a time lapse of all those pictures?

I found this effusive outpouring of affection to be quite funny! Not to say that an affected style of dress cannot look nice, but in the end, it is still affected. Although if someone likes that sort of thing, then it works. I looked at some of Tibor's posts and he dresses well, his fits are good. I would feel a little self conscious with a hat like that, but then again my line of work doesn't allow for that kind of independence in sartorial matters.

On to in stitches, I think his outfit is rather inoffensive. Certainly nothing is really wrong with it, even if a he wears a few things I would never want for myself--namely a button down shirt. But, and I hope I don't offend in stitches with this, I think he would become a dramatically better dresser if he lost some weight. No tailor however good can really hide that extra few lbs around the waist. Otherwise, he definitely appears to know how to dress well.

As for the orgre fellow, he is in uniform and it shows. The fits appear to be good, but he is clearly an aficionado of dramatically ugly ties.

Both ends of the spectrum represented

I don't agree. It's obvious that Orgetorix likes what he wears, and it never feels constricted or boring (as I guess the term "uniform" would suggest). Also, let's not comment on peoples weight, this is a clothing forum not jennycraig.com. IMHO a good tailor doesn't hide a person, he flatters his best features.

I know it's a lot but I couldn't withstand the temptation of putting it all together :)

Thank you, they were cheaper than the tie even. Corduroy pants from H&M.

I really love those ties BTW, and that second suit is sweet!

The suit is most flattering to a lean figure, it's just true. A guy like in stitches, someone who knows how to dress, would look better if a little leaner. Ogretrix, on the other hand, is bad with colors and has cheapish looking suits.

As for the jennycraig comment, look to the avatar...Gibson don't care, Mel wants war
