The weather has finally been really nice here the last couple of days, so I decided to bring out a lighter jacket that has been in storage over the winter. Needless to say, once I got to work it almost immediately started to rain :brick:. So much for spring.....

It's nice to see light over dark done like this. We need more discussion of what to do with all of these lighter sport coats hanging in our closets. I like it.

I think" light over dark" works much better (or really only works) during spring/summer. DerekS did something similar a while back that I really liked. I've had that fit in the back of my mind for a while and decided to try something similar today.....

I like the light coat/dark trousers thing, but I think this might be too much contrast for me. I wish the jacket had been a little darker, or the trousers a little lighter. Other than that, I really liked your tie and PS selection.

not 100% on this today. I havent worn this tie in months and months...wanted to give it some wear...second guessing my choice though. I purged a lot of ties recently...maybe this one will be next.

I quite like the tie but not with that pocket square. Think a non-white shirt would be better here.

@ Timo: jacket fits very well. I'm not familiar with the Lazio, would like to see more open quarters. By the way your link goes to 'page not found' (might be a good thing as I'm in the NPC!)

@ Choc: don't fear the 3B it looks fine on you.

It's not one I would especially reach for in a shop but if it was in my wardrobe I'd probably wear it every now and then. It's not bad to get away from solid/neats on occasion (i'm guilty of sticking to them too).

No, it is just as horrible as you think. Probably worse, actually. :)

It's far from horrible, but (as I suspect you know far better than I) it is far from an SF-approved type of tie. It's the type of tie I really embrace in the spring after a long, dull, grey winter. Drab solids and muted greadines have their place, but so does the occasional bold pattern and bright (well, light, anyway) colour. Variety is good.

i tend to line up with this school of thought. I think its nice to add some color/pattern sometimes and break out of the solids and SF approved stuff.

I, too, like some color and pattern. But that pattern is nope.

I've been reading these forums for years and never bothered to join let alone post. This made me do both. Well done sir.

Screw them, man. Those trousers look great and that's how 3-piece suit pants should be. Big like.

As much as I like color and pattern in ties, and do not hew closely at all the local Gemeinschaft in these matters, today's tie is not one that I would have chosen for myself, certainly. It is not as heinous as others may find it, but there are better bright ties out there in the world - at least IMHO.

    Sorry, friend.
