Hello gentlemen. Apologies once more for the blurry pics, but it's enough to give the gist.

Two points on which I would like to invite your collective metrosexual wisdom/derision, if you'd be so kind (or unkind, whatever feels good..):

    1. I'm having a more casual day today - button-down and no tie with a single vented sports jacket. My question is whether it is workable to wear a pocket square without a tie. I think yes, and that it gives an image of "put together" without necessarily being formal. But I have to ask myself: What Would StyleForum Do?

    2. This one might sting a little. I'm ready. These slip-ons are an Italian blake-stitched number that I bought years and years ago. They never got much wear until rediscovered fairly recently. They're hopelessly out of fashion with those very Italian/American square toes. But I like the patina, and the stitching on the facing. The latter doesn't look as bold as in this pic, and course it's under my trousers most of the time. They are also longer and slimmer than they appear here. Anyway, I don't wear slip-ons much for work, and never with a suit, but with a sports jacket they're a change from my French burgundy penny loafers every now and then. But I could be crossing a line of bad taste here. So the question is simply: are they an acceptable rotation, or just too ugly to live?

Both outfits look great. Spiffy without being too outré.

Sugarbutch has become the epitome of 'solid' - and I don't mean that in a negative way at all.

Seconded. If I were still young enough to want to be someone when I grew up, then when I grew up, I'd want to be SugarButch. [IMG]

Apropos of previous controversy (OK, flaming) regarding my intermittent employment of contrasting shoelaces: enter the "Affiliate Vendor"!

"The Hanger Project" is indulging the worst excesses of....people like me.

Like the suit. Is your left sleeve hung up because of your watch?

I like the "Friday" look a lot, but do wish the coat were an inch longer.
