What does snatch technique have to do with anything at all?! Pff...I give up!
Victor and I are almost identically sized (I am in inch taller, he is about five pounds heavier). Where we differ is in the quality of our tailors (I am off the rack, and Victor is obviously not).
I am also a crossfit instructor, and thus feel qualified to critique an admittedly stronger man's form.
I reckon on this course we're about three posts away from comparing penis size.
Would anyone rather get this back to the serious issues of socks versus socklessness, whether one's collar points must be covered, and other such matters of import? I know I really would.
Good idea, there's no reason to discuss my wooly two inches.
Stop whining and just ignore posts that don't interest you. Christ.
Was starting to wonder if this was a humour-free zone. Thanks for the reassurance
OK, but you can call me "Al". xx
Some from a few weekends back, taken in a 1790 house, currently a nice antique/curio shop. Standard apology for the shitty iPhone quality pics.
My contribution to getting us back on track, fire away.
Like that petrol-coloured (cotton/linen?) jacket with the jeans, and the clean pocket square. Lovely weekend look with the burgundy pennies: although I remain a committed sock-ist, if you're going to go nekked, this is the context to do it! I'd go smaller with the check, personally, but I imagine the overall effect is very pleasing. Jolly good. And not a body part calibration in sight. Splendid!
Somehow I knew this was coming, I'm glad we're back to clothes now though.
OK, so on the important sock questions. I (like mimo/Christ/Al) am a committed sockist - at least inside the shoe. I would like to get the sockless look, however. (I am a true poseur.)
Banana Republic loafer socks are fine in, say, low cut Chucks, but they still show when I wear them with actual loafers (so I don't). Who can suggest something lower? (I've seen praise for Falke, but can't tell if they are actually lower.)
I'm going to go the opposite direction and say we kill Victor. I'll split his wardrobe with anybody providing alibis, allocating his stuff according to the strength of your testimony.
Victor, your outfits are to die for. You, me, small innocent children playing in the park.
It probably helps that his photographs are of fantastic quality. Victor, what lens do you generally use? Judging by depth of field at various ranges I'd say 35mm, but I know less about photography than about fashion.
I've heard of these invisible socks, but my objection is as much sartorial as hygienic - I've never looked for them so I can't really help. I will continue to wear over the calf socks with my loafers to balance out your little ones.
Thank you, its a BB tropical weight wool orphan.
As to the great sock debate, this is the only time its OK, IMO.
Missed this the first time...
there's the mall-based shoe store Journeys. they carry God-awful "shoes" and sneaks for the kids but they do have invisible socks for loafers. I think I got a pack w/ 4 or 5 pairs for about $10.
