1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

Haha. Well, yes, I guess getting a suit in the UK is going to be expensive. [IMG]

My loquacious propensity for the verbose has never lent itself towards brevity, obviously.

Do what you gonna do playa, but there is an SF meme about the guy who keeps going "just until I have enough, then I'll make the jump" and keeps buying things he doesn't like as much as he could. As a last bit: Vox gave me a great piece of advice when I was first thinking about bespeaking. He told me to first spend some time with and try on a bunch of high end RTW stuff. Then he advised that I get a few shirts and a suit made. These should be enough to know whether or not I wanted to continue on out. I found it to hold true.

Kinda meh on the hank, but whatever. It's what I'm wearing. (Also, wearing black shoes.)

I understand that, and don't get me wrong, I think it is very wise advice - I really hope I won't hold true to that meme. The problem is that if I start saving right now, I'll have two options:

    a) wear flannel trousers and cashmere jackets when it gets warm, which is not going to be comfortable
    b) leave home naked

My last MTM commission was a mistake, I know. A big mistake, which seems to go the way of the "keeps buying things he doesn't like as much as he could" guy. With the money I spent on it I could have bought more than half of that "life-saving" spring/summer wardrobe, and would be saving for bespoke already.

What your advice has made me reconsider is my current tailor. I think that I will stop using him even if I don't fully dislike the next jacket - because I am certain I won't like it as much as I could, either. That should be a step forward.

But another reason I might be struggling to achieve saving money for bespoke (and it's important) is that I'm still not sure if I should pursue my goals and interests as an avid classic menswear enthusiast, or accept the reality of my personal situation and income and try to find a sweet spot between fit, style, and price.

Yeah, I'm lucky in that my tailor disagreed with me a little but still does my stuff the way I want it to please me.

Back to my usual today, and no amusing facial hair (my usual beard will grow back)... vintage 3-piece suit, CT black label shirt, vintage burgundy knitted tie (+ burgundy Florsheim Imperials). No PS, no BS, just simple.

I wore blackwatch pants, which in hindsight were a little much for this. Oh well. Feedback on this?

Fred is very fickle, and fond of beards. Clearly Stitches has you beat there...as far as Fred is concerned. Personally, I think you got him beat...but Fred has his preferences.
