why not? they both have excellent information from many people who are well versed in classical mens dress, on item, color, texture and pattern matching, and ideas on basic essentials for a man to stock his wardrobe with.
both of those threads have much more good and consolidated info than this thread does right now.
Tricky to judge; photo is a bit washed out, at least on my screen. Could be great or trousers/jacket could be fighting.
That particular casual jacket will almost always look really bad against a more formal shirt/tie combination IMO. The shirt/tie colours are fine, but the tie's pattern is very far from what I like. Another interpretation of this look that would probably get more appreciation would be a casual blue shirt (eg. OCBD or chambray), paired with a silk knit orange tie, and more typically styled cotton blazer in a slightly lighter colour. Tan cotton suit with the shirt/tie I just mentioned would be great.
Alternatively, your jacket might - might - work against an unbuttoned casual blue shirt and a summer-weight sweater, if your climate allows for it. Not sure, really.
I don't really like multistripe ties, but the suit/shirt/shoe/square combination should all work together nicely. Purple (especially pinkish/mauve) ties work better against pale blue (or at least cream) shirts than white, I think. Possibly even pale pink, though it's a bit of love/hate look. Dark purple can work against white, but it's not my favourite combination for daytime (quite cool for nights out though IMO).
I always struggle to use this shirt, to the point that it has to be the starting item in an outfit and I try to work around it. I'm not totally on board with the result, but...
... other ideas of what to do with this shirt would be appreciated. No, "burn it" is not an acceptable answer.
HF, I bought a similar RLPL shirt from the mansion where it was paired with a navy three-piece suit and navy tie. I've worn it with a navy suit and navy-purple and navy-light blue repps, really simple look but I like it.
Spoiler: Warning: Spoiler!
You are THE MAN!
SO I'm stuck in a hotel with a few suits and a bb camera to my name, Cue the shitty pics.
Did you get rid of the shirt, SB?
Tie, shirt, and jacket look nice together. I like it.
Ha! No, I haven't. I probably won't wear it with a suit anymore, though.
New shoes timotune? Anyways I think it looked pretty good, but I didn't like the pants rolled up like that.
Damn. I thought I convinced you with the 'looks like a shirt you can play games on' line.
Isn't this from last week?
