Welcome to this topic bernoulli Nice suit
Do you like the tie like that?
It is a simple four in hand. You no love you the dimple?
The dimple and it sticks out a bit. But the tie it self is very nice.
Perhaps you could shave off the top hairs so's we'd get a better idea? Oh and maybe if you showed us your belt buckle for comparison purposes.
It's supposed to have a dimple, and stick out. He is wearing his collar pin specifically to make it 'stick out'.
I reckon this is how you learn though.
sorry the shoddy picture today and the weird shoulder crunch, for some reason i was bending down a bit haha. Same old BB sc. Pants are pale blue oxford cloth. Have a good day folks.
Little more of a casual look today...
Chino Blazer - H&M
Shirt & Tie - J. Banks / Travelers Series
Navy Pants - JCrew
birdman, sorry, but this aint workin for ya.
jacket is odd, colors are not sympataco, and the tie is no dice.
no offense, just trying to help.
read these threads please, you will learn a lot. you dont have treat it like gospel, but there is good information there for everyone. take what you can from it, and apply it to your personal style.
Clapeyron, I agree. It doesn't flow very well with the rest of the outfit. I should have just worn my barrel cuff white shirt. Thanks for pointing it out. I tried this SC on with honey brown/rust colored pants this weekend and it looked excellent. Problem is all my brown/tan dress trousers are winter weight! Will try to find something in a summer fabric in that color spectrum as it brought out the best in the coat.
Speaking of incongruence, and the pot calling the kettle black, ABirdinHand, I like that blazer in theory in a different context (jeans, some bright colored chinos) but I am not sure it works with the conservative repp tie and the spread collar shirt. The most formal I think one can wear a blazer like that is with an OCBD and some dark denim or the aforementioned chinos. It isn't a terrible decision, just a disjointed one such as the gaffe i made today!
(the wide color is light lavender, not pinkish as it may appear on your screen)
Givenchy suit, Cottonwork shirt, Faconnable tie, Tie Bar PS, down below Bally black cap toe hooves.
I'm not sure those are the best two threads to point someone in direction to.
My 2 cents...wear this same suit and tie but replace the gingham with a white shirt. You want to look smart and put together, not boy band-ish as another person pointed out, especially if your girl is wearing another dress like this. If that is her dress then gingham is way too casual.
