Tibor, great to see you're here. I always liked the hats, though I had no place for some of them :) Weren't you interested in an apprenticeship? Did anything come of it?

I read an article (here or the news?) discussing top hat construction. A bolt of old cloth was found and they were relying on retired hatmakers to describe the process as the last factory had closed. Sorry, missed out on the details, but thought you might have been interested.

Well the train has run off the track. But we have a crew from the Local 12 of the Ball Busters Union on the scene. Cleanup's underway.

It was about discovering silk plush for old-world top hat making. The story can be found on Vox'sTumblr, for instance.

Ahh, thank you. I knew it must have been somewhere from SF or the like.

I object to your disagreement on the grounds of unwarranted prejudice against dandy leprechauns. Sorry.

Fair enough. Each to their own. He does take all of his photographs in aristocratic-looking, palatial gardens though.

    Agreed.

Next commission = Slightly fuller chest, slightly wider in the sleeves and legs, slightly more room in the skirt (this from Vox) and maybe just a tad bit longer overall. I'm also thinking wider lapels (not Foo-wide but a bit more moderate) and a 3-roll-2 button arrangement.

Basically, just taking everything outwards by just a tad.

Not doing anything with this one or the others though; don't want to screw with the balance.

    Have to disagree there, gnatty.

To me, the bow-tie works with this suit and two others in my rotation, is because this suit has more casual elements (3 patch pockets, lighter horn buttons, textured fabric).

What I believe is throwing the balance off is the collar; the bow is neither wide nor tall enough to cover it. Now that this is apparent, I will not be wearing it with my Charles Nahkle shirts, which all have the same collars, but will only wear said bow with my P Johnson shirts, which have a wider cutaway, and are therefore not as tall.

Ironically, the silver bow-tie I wore the day before - which Butch noted was trying to eat up my neck - would suit my Charles Nahkle shirts more as the collars are taller. :)

Hampton you are out of line, and very rude. It Tibor's his business where he goes, and or wears his clothes!! He has every entitlement to wear what he likes, where he likes.

    also saying... "looking like that"
What do you mean by this, looking like what? Do you mean you wouldnt approve because it is not how you dress.
    Again Behave.!!

I actually really love this. I think the color combination really works, and even kinda dig the wrinkled look of the coat.

Only thing I would change, is adding a belt...
