I completely agree. The dark tie takes this somewhere near the realm of some sort of server or valet, a service type outfit. Not sure, but that's the feeling I get.

Not exactly - I would not wear a baby blue sport coat - but close.

non -BD collar shirt wore open neck and with a jacket is my kryptonite. Think about how much you hate BD collar shirts with ties and then multiply it by 10.

dark ties literally work with everything, any season. you could wear a navy or black grenadine tie in pretty much any seasonal outfit and look fine. Light colored ties is where you need to tread lightly.

I have a pet peeve against black ties with blue suits. Black shoes are fine with them of course.

Charcoal or mid grey ties solve this issue for me.

The contrast here is just too much for me. Also, I'm having trouble with the silk square with all of the other more rustic textures.

I would really like to see a full body shot however. Maybe I'd change my mind.

I think with light blues it comes across too strong, tan suits, or even seersucker always look good with darker, CBD ties, imo.

C'mon, now. You know you like the texture of that coat and the little flecs of blue peppered throughout. I can see you in that coat.
