A Blazer is part of an english school or (in the old days) university uniform.

Again I will say that a blazer, by definition, always has metal buttons, and always has patch pockets. Children do not have flapped pockets as part of their uniform ever.
If it has flap pockets then it is a sport coat.

I was not asking you clappy, I was telling you.

To my knowledge this is not correct:

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blazer

But this is a debate that flares up periodically on SF, and I find it to be one of the more banal recurring SF discussions. We all understand roughly what is meant by "navy blazer". Does it really matter for the purposes of this discussion whether the thing has patch pockets or not and therefore under whatever chosen definition can actually be defined a "blazer"? Do we really need to belittle someone when they refer to their sport coat as a blazer, when it's clear to everyone what he means?

I could resolve this debate with a word.

Home from church. Time to shed this stuff and put on some shorts and a light shirt. (Patagonia)

I think the bow tie would look better if the points were reaching out beyond the width of the shirt collar.

I've actually seen a lot of pink/green combos that I think look great, but I'm not daring enough to wear it myself. :embar:

The shirt in the picture is one of Taylor Stitch's first offerings. At the time, when I ordered the shirt , they had a really cool mint/blue check. WHICH I DID NOT BUY. Later, when I tried to order it, the (limited) stock was gone. CURSES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Do walnut shoes work with British Khaki colored chinos?

To me shoes of this color are really to be worn during the day in the summer. I realize it's the summer, but you're wearing them with a cashmere sweater, which looks a little weird to me.

I think walnut shoes look great with tan and tweed outfits in the fall. Maybe not the dead of winter though. I think it would look good if the sweater was a bit lighter in color.

I guess I'd have to see for a given outfit, but in general I prefer a medium brown with more texture in these situations.

It's possible TKE's would look better even with a change of sock color to something lighter. Also, I should clarify that I'm not saying you should be laughed out of the party you attended. It looks fine. Just to me it seems a bit off.

This suit recently has caused some controversy over in SW&D, so I thought I'd get MC's opinion. The suit is bespoke.

N.B. The photos in the non-robopose collage were taken soon after I had received the finished suit, and I had the pants shortened based on those photos (as you can see in the robopose pics).

Actual comments intended to be helpful:

    -jacket sleeves look long.
    -jacket looks a bit short
-pulling under the collar, should be easily remedied.
-as a styling issue, i prefer wider lapels.
-can't stand contrast stitching on sleeves
-looks like armholes are pretty low
    - on side view left sleeve looks like it needs to be rotated
