I'll get the fire started.
Victor, I'm intrigued as to what your job is, as you always seem so fantastically well dressed!
I wouldn't burn that coat, however I'd rip of those flaps on the patch pockets.
I'm not so sure if high rise pants compliment your body shape, though.
Adjust your belt.
Yes you can!
Growing up on the "yeshivish" side as well!
wow, me too!
This is not getting much love, today. Nothing wrong with the coat. Madras is cool. But....I'd try nicely fitting blue, or light blue, chinos. (Bills Khaki??) A white button down shirt. A cool belt. No tie, of course! And, yeah, as Clapey wrote, tuck in those pocket flaps. A nice, casual look for al fresco dining.
Thank for the feedback guys. The jacket is an acquired taste but I love it and the fabric is the perfect weight. so no, I won't burn it but I can appreciate it won't get a ton of love . I would like more summer items i.e. belts, shirts, etc and am looking.into.that. This jacket is extreme.for southeast michigan so I tried to tone.it down. Noticed the flap after pix, was in a rush this morning.
Fwiw I thinl light blue pants and a white linen bd shirt would be nice..
We should make a Jewish SF meetup
it would be very large tho, teh joos are all over this place lol
Did Tibor turn thirteen?
Love that chain sir.
I take it that you don't want any more children ?
I think Citan is a good example of a common SF poster. He acquires a ton of clothes, but much of it just doesn't quite fit or looks a bit off. I think people discover this site and just get a little over eager wanting to acquire as much as possible as quickly as possible. I don't mean this as an insult. It's an observation that I can recognize from having gone through it myself.
The problem with this approach is that you wind up with a bunch of clothes that don't quite fit and look kind of off. I think Citan would benefit from slowing down and starting over by putting together a more limited wardrobe with higher quality basics. Trini is probably the best example of someone who did this. I have tried to do it myself.
I think Citan generally looks better than the average SF poster. The average poster seems content with looking mediocre and not taking that next step to improve upon his outfits. The average poster would rather have the quantity over quality. Citan has a good eye for putting together outfits. He's had several outfits that have looked great. If there was just a little more focus on getting the fit right and less focus on acquiring so much stuff, I really think it would benefit him.
I have to disagree, at least in terms of what SF has done for me. I lurked on here for the better part of 3 years before joining. All 3 years served as a wake up call that the people that look the best on here are the ones that stick to basics or who have a uniform to which they add a personal touch. Pre-SF I was way more into labels, into having a large closet, buying off the sales rack, etc. Now I am far more targeted in what I want (some might say "need") in my closet. Quality, fit and versatility trump materialism and gluttony.
Since last year I have tried to simplify things into a much smaller, more organized closet. I've sold off a ton of shit I know I'll never wear again and have begun saving for bespoke commissions. I might be an outlier, but I quickly found the guys on here I most admire have a well-curated, relatively small collection of staples that can be easily mixed and matched. I'm trying to get to that level.
