Today I seem to be channeling Steve McQueen:

Persol sunglasses (black folding #714);
Polo shirt, navy blue;
Bills Khakis "Parker" pant, plain-front, stone color (very light tan);
Red Wings brown leather belt (made in U.S.A.);
Omega Speedmaster chronograph on Horween shell cordovan strap;
Baracuta G4 "Harrington" jacket, blue (made in England, "Project 137" wax cotton);
Alden dark brown suede chukka boots.

Now, where did I park my Jaguar XKSS?

Agreed. I still don't get French cuffs with tweed, and I would have picked different buttons for the coat (prob. dark brown horn), but overall it is quite nice.

I prefer French cuffs, so all of my shirts have them. Even when I wear tweed. I have contemplated getting barrel cuffs, but every time I end up ordering the French. I also don't have any button-down collars.

I don't normally do multiple detail close-ups, but I wore my very old, battered & cheap straw hat with its funky paisley band today, and I really like it, so...

A truly excellent summer day's ensemble (and the beard would seem to me to be more of a winter feature).

I predict that you will change your mind on cuffs. Actually I think you'll change your mind on both.

I don't have any particular attachment to my current position, it's just my preference. I'm probably a lot closer to barrel cuffs than I am to button-down collars, though.

Enjoy your holiday weekend, those who have a holiday this weekend. Everyone else, carry on.

Dinghy sailing is so much fun. We have a dinghy series at the club that I may have to get out for this season.
