A jacket like that should never have buttons like those.

And if ever there were a wrong fit for a white, French-cuffed shirt, that's probably it.

Like the trou - grey flannel is rarely the wrong choice.

Very curious to know what you gents think about the shoes. Too formal for the rest?

TTO, is that pocket square from Suit Supply? If so, I might pull the trigger on a couple. Really wanted to see them in a real life context before doing so.

Not sure about that. In fact, I'm not sure about gnatty's jacket, or a lot of today's fits either.

I have to agree with this, again. Red tie + green square is good in theory (complementary colors) but the shades here didn't work, though it looks a bit better IRL. In fact I'm having so much trouble with my lack of squares lately that I think I'm going to go on a square shopping spree. No new jackets, shirts, or ties for some time, just squares! [IMG]

IMO, the trousers are the discordant element. Technically, yes, the captoe oxford in black is too formal for the SC, but with a nice gray flannel, it would have been fine.

Yes, but I agree the trou don't work with the rest of the fit.

Orge's fit is as classic as you could want. The shoes are ugly (sorry) and the jacket is boxy for my taste but the look is clean and well done.

Combine that with the fact that he's young and in the dirty souf and I'm guessing it's perfectly suited to his particular context.

Thanks for what compliment is in there, and congratulations - that's an admirable number of mistakes to cram into such a short post.

I meant everything but the bit about the shoes as a compliment.

My comment was largely opinion except for the observation that you are young and that your profile says Louisville. Don't know what I'm mistaken about or how it should have any bearing on what I thought was positive feedback.

This is my second post in this thread but first of all I want to thank all those who commented on my first post (patterned trousers and short-sleeved white shirt) with many constructive suggestions. I thought of answering all the questions and thanking everyone but this thread moved so quickly that I didn't want to bring my old post up. Will try to keep up with the comments on this fit if there is any.

In any case, this is what I wore today for a job interview. Sorry for the LQ pictures as well as the angle taken with my iPhone.

I'm young and mostly follow the SF-disapproved labels:

    Suit: ZZegna
    Shirt: TMLewin
    Tie: Fendi
    Shoes: Dolce & Gabbana
    Notepad cover: Louis Vuitton

Thanks, fellas -- and also to those who responded in the Thumbs Up window. I like your suggestions, and I also think I could convert this into a really nice dressy-casual outfit by swapping out the shoes and losing the tie.
