1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

    Cheers,

    A quick one,...cast away...

(Yeah I know, the collar points....these shirts are toast when the new ones arrive)

    Info:

Jacket: 150s, bespoke but not great
Shirt: cotton, fine blue stripe, doesn't really show. Not bad, but the collar is irritating...
    Tie: Aquascutum, wool herringbone
    PS: generic. cotton
    Trousers: disposable M&S
Socks: Gammarelli (unbelievably luxurious for the price; recommended)
    Shoes: Church's

(Added: a more accurate rendition of colours)

The problem is that this is Styleforum people expect some minimum amount of effort, if not knowledge. If you spent 10 seconds looking at the MC casual style thread, you would not have posted this.

Why? You have a seagull on your sweater and your pants are so long you could trip over them if your shoes didn't extend 4" beyond your toes.

That sounds harsh because what you need is tough love. There are a lot of college kids here who dress well for little $.

Since this may be the worst thing I've ever seen in this thread, I'll actually do something to help - if you're a size 9 and will pay shipping from the UK, I'll give you a pair of brown AE Park Ave-s. (they're rain shoes so they're a little beat up but will work great with some TLC)

PM me if that's your size.

Saw him on Nyhetsmorgon yesterday - he looked like a pundare (dope-head). Who wouldn't though, he was interviewing some hag about a blonde TV-wife being kicked out of a hotel.

T'is good we have Ernst though.

It is good you like the hat. I don´t. Men over 65 might pull it of but not you and not with that outfit.

Hopefully a better showing for the ancient tweed.
I agree its best as a three-piece, but somewhat overwhelming, trying it as a two-piece, hopefully the continuity of the fabric helps balance/hide the extra length.

Doesn't look long at all, maybe for the reasons you said. And nice to see someone with the balls to try a cravat too. Overall I think this is probably the best I've seen of yours in my short time here. Your usual individualism, but great colours, textures, lines, everything...this is a really fabulous look, and totally unique without looking unnatural or contrived.

It's normally too hot for me to wear tweed and other heavy patterned wools, and I like the look of it so much. So you, SB, Albert and several others, are really turning me green with envy right now with the consistently brilliant level of awesome tweedage. Rock on.

Welcome Jeff. Please don't get discouraged by the negative comments and harsh words. As in all fora, there exists members who like to give new members a hard time.
That said, you do need to reconsider your shoes choice, not due to the price. Rather, it is because nicer styles with better construction are available if you catch them on sale.

While I got time for a full pic today, the outfit is only semi-interesting, though. At least I managed to remember a PS today :D

[IMG]This argument will never be won. And it doesn't matter. Nice pic though!

Man, another caption competition. "ScotRail in Second Class...be afraid..be very afraid....". Were you looking for the "Hobbits in Fetishwear" thread? (Although, I confess: part of me is also thinking "hahaha...fucking BRILLIANT!")

You're right on your game today, Mr Pingson. Everything is great, and the tie is outstanding. Details please?

Something more low-key for today, after yesterday's retro-extravaganza. I do hope that today I will be able to hide from Big A's paparazzi, in his series "Celebrity Bathrooms I Have Stalked", or failing that, maybe he'll just tell me where he hid the damned toilet paper . . .

    Suit, shirt, tie - BB
    PS - Ashear
    Cufflinks -DVVS, NYC
    Shoes - J & M (Italian manufacture)
