Dude, you look just like the character Ken Cosgrove from Mad Men.
Have not been around much, or had much opportunity to put fits together recently. My wife wanted me to look nice for the baby shower though - which should be a good indicator of why I've not been around much lately. Well, that and my doctorate has progressed to the next phase in which I pretty much spend all of my time locked in a room with white boards and computers scrawling glyphs. Anyway, fit was not anything which would have been new around here, but there was a decent lifestyle shot obtained which allows me to share this, the real reason for posting:
I was going to stay rather more casual - work the jeans and odd coat look, however my wife asked me to put something together. Since it was her shower and she was freaking out a bit, I was willing to play the cool husband and put together a few of my favorite combos (all influenced and improved by SF feedback), and in the process she made the remark that she missed her well dressed husband. I've steadily moved back to a more... utilitarian mode of dress over the last few months, mostly because the demands on my time and energy have been extreme and for me it is a luxury/fancy. Still, it has also served the purpose because when I started at the whole thing she missed her slovenly graduate student husband.
My point in all of this is simply to relay to an audience who will appreciate it that I have turned my wife towards accepting and encouraging my SF habit rather than merely tolerating it. It seemed a thing to celebrate. Cheers.
My beloved PRL jacket. New tie from Massimo Dutti.
Light blue baby hounds tooth PS.
Denim and pennys.
Spring is returning so all I need is a vest and a scarf.
Vest from Boomerang.
Scarf from Lyle & Scott.
6x1 is the buttoning position of the jacket.....
The picture angle isn't great, it could be a touch too big
Overall it does still looks nice, I would change to a lighter PS to spice the look up
Now I understand, sorry for my english. Thanks for the advice! What do you others think about one button DB, no good?
like a young nick wooster
The one button fastening DB gives a general bad vintage look, however if the item fits well I would keep it.
I rarely see people have good looks with 6x1 DB except Prince Charles or Duke of Windsor.....
I'm looking little at it and I think it needs to be tailored as you said little little to big. Better to sell it maybe?
I would tailored it and keep if possible.
I believed such dated design would not warrant sales, unless it is a good name
I realised quiet a lot people here pretend to care about fit, really they care about how expensive the stuff is, and the branding of a particular product, human nature.....
I keep most of mine here:
But I always let Jennifer hold one for me, too.
Suit - BB

Spoiler: Warning: Spoiler!
Happy Friday everyone. Crusty, I was hoping you would bust out the "One Sportcoat" today so we would match. Alas!
Forgive the bulging on the left side of the waist. My shirt is rather billowy at the waist and making it seem tigher than it is. Need to get that tailored...
