Looking for critique as this is my first post in any WAYWRN thread. This was after work so my clothes are a bit wrinkly. I am now thinking I should have folded my pocket square differently. Oh well. [IMG] [IMG]

I was about to comment but was hoping no one would notice. Then I forgot this was SF.

Yeah, that's an orphaned jacket from a MTM TaT suit I just received. I actually told them to heighten the armholes but they suggested to leave them as is. I should've had them raise them. [IMG] I am thinking the fit is okay. Any comments on it?

To be clear, I do appreciate the critique. I've also PM'd ace and he has been even more helpful. I appreciate that as well. I wouldn't be posting if I did not genuinely want to learn. Hopefully today is better.

From what I can see, for a young guy, its good for you. Tough to really tell with your arms raised like that, but if you are out hunting some tail, I think the outfit works [IMG] Use a different PS fold though.

Hahaha! I got the jacket about an inch or so shorter to try out the look. Also, I was experimenting a different PS fold but I'll go back to the TV fold next time. [IMG] I couldn't get a camera and tripod so I had to keep my arm up hahaha. And speaking of hunting some tail, I did get checked out by chicks on my way home on my bike. That wasn't the best part though. The best part was went a smokin' blonde pulled too far out of the driveway, making me swerve around and crashing into the curl. I almost flew over my handlebars. True story.

His jacket is way too long.

a 2 button jacket 2-3" shorter would make you look much taller.

I think this looks pretty good. I like the fit on the jacket. Where did you get it from?

One of the best first posts in a long time. Great fit and colors.

    5'10".

I'm 5'10" too, but I look positively taller in my pictures. (I think)

Just so you know, I wrote out this big long wall of text about how we all have "bodily issues" we need to address in order to look our best, and how important it is to be honest with ourselves about our strengths and weaknesses, etc., etc., but deleted it all because I thought maybe I came off as needlessly condescending or that maybe you're really sensitive about your height and I had best leave well enough alone.

As it turns out, we're exactly the same height.

Today IS better, but that tie made me punch my toddler. I don't like punching babies, generally. Also, consider a two button suit - I don't think three button suits are your bag. Finally, you may want to take some fullness/length out of your trousers, but it could just be the pose.
You'd better put on sugarbutch's stormtrooper helmet, son, 'cause you're about to be seriously roughed up over that tie.
please give that tie away to charity.
Thanks for your opinions on the tie. Personally, I rather love it and have gotten nothing else but compliments on it thus far. Is there any particular reason, or do you guys just not like it?
Getting a haircut and especially shaving off that goattee will do wonders for your look. You seem to be of average height, maybe on the short side. 3 button jackets with high button stance and super long jackets exacerbate your shortness. The jacket looks to have a nice lapel roll, but it's not for you. Go for 2 button jackets with a lower button stance and a short overall length. Also, those socks don't work at all. Stick with plain dark grey socks for the time being. No comment on that tie. I see that you're trying and that's good, but tame it down.
a 2 button jacket 2-3" shorter would make you look much taller.

Thanks. I can definitely see what you guys mean about the 2-button-shorter-make-you-look-taller bit. This was tied for the first suit I bought. The other one I bought at the time was also 3-button of perhaps slightly shorter length and so will probably suffer from the same problem as well. The other two suits that I own are two button, one of which I think fits this bill. The other is about the same length as this one though, but I think buttons lower. I'm certain all three will show up this week for everyone's amusement, bemusement, and horror. I'll make sure to bring vomit buckets.

Thank you for this. I really appreciate that you would choose to take the high road and consider the feelings of an anonymous stranger over the internet and refrain from being needlessly condescending in a verbose way.

^ the tie looked like it was from the set of Avatar. In fact, when I donned 3D glasses it looked pretty trippy.

Point: it overpowers everything else. You want the tie to complement your look, not be distracting.

Of course, I have questionable tastes in ties myself.

    - WTF, we have a lot of work to do then. Before then, may I ask you to take a level picture not a downward angle & in natural light. Also twirl your arms up before settling into a ROBOT pose.
    - FYI place camera at chest height & step back at least 15"
