I remember that I pissed off a lot of people in the wake of that contest.

I still think yours was one of the best. Of course, none of those pansies could read what was written on it.

Also, I miss Nii.

i think that on the MC side grail items are personal than general. so is my thought anyway.

What does this even mean? That SW&D posters base their grails on something other than what they really want?

A famous example are jodhpurs, that are actually a product of an ancient type of trouser. Now ofcourse commonly used for horse riding.

areh riding kay bachay i would wear such a garment, in fact i had some trousers with aggressive tapers and voluminous upper block that basically were jodhpurs but i didn't like the black color. then again, i wear rick owen/drkshdw with kurtas so ...

they're in general personal items, i guess he meant in general do people have certain things they consider grail items for themselves (I don't, really, but am probably in the minority, I see everything, even the most unique, as something material and inevitably replaceable by not the same one but something else equally rare/unique).

lol, i mean that one dudes grail might be a top shelf attolini gun check SC and anothers might be a pair of G&Gs, and so on.... not a specific item everyone is lusting after. tho i could very well be wrong.

are there grail items in MC?

good question...

Suits; dress shirts;  7-fold ties; bluchers; balmorals; socks; sport coats; trousers...

Socks?? He means specifically... like SW&Ds search after some s/s '09 Achilles or a RO leather from a/w '06/'07 or something. so are there some grail items like a Malo or Cucinelli cashmere from '08 or a certain run of Drake's for which they ran out of material? or maybe it's this....

naw not same, every may want to have gats (not necessarily true, just example) but that's not like some dude who found his 2000-whatever 1 of 10 produced donkey leather Carpe Diem backzips in bone or early-iteration Yohji pants nowhere to be found etc etc

That might just be because MC clothing is a tad more interchangeable (though this may just be because I know less about it) - i.e. maker X makes sportcoats to be lusted after but they do the same every season so it's not quite like the ultra-rare items from defunct brands and such that will never be seen again outside of ebay.

idk, there are lines by brands whos designers of that era left and the such. still, i think its because there is much more individuality in MC.

The combination of looking at those threads and Lufty starting to post again today has me craving some Emperor, Ulver and Dark Throne right now... There's even a pretty intense thunder storm tonight to add to the mood!
