Nice, I like the tie colour and collar pin detail. Lift the tie and pin a bit so the knot 'stands' better, the tie knot is looking a bit flat and depressed.

Maybe you can do this again with out using the bathroom mirror when your new camera arrives. :satisfied:

Thanks for the feedback. That's the plan. It should arrive the same time as my first ever MTM, Samuelsohn suit. I'll enlist the wife for a photo shoot, and do it up right.

I'm asking this question in advance since there may not be much time for suggestions later. I am awaiting delivery of this navy Brooks Brothers DB. I would like to wear it during the main day of our company's annual management conference to be held next week at a resort in northern Jersey next week.

The dress code (remember, I work for a company that requires me to wear a black shirt and khaki pants now on a daily basis) is Business Casual. In the past, that has meant anything from a suit without a necktie to khakis and a polo shirt.

Assuming I can get alterations on it in time, what can I wear with the DB to keep everything on a BC level but still dress well? I plan to go tieless but bring a couple along just in case.

Or should I just forget the DB and pick out a sport coat?

P.S.? Just yes or no will suffice.

My available wardrobe includes ( but is not limited to) the following choices:

    Shirts:

    1. White / Semi spread collar / Single button barrel cuff
    2. White / Button collar / Single button barrel cuff
    3. White / Semi spread collar / French cuff
    4. White and Navy bengal stripe / Semi spread collar / single button barrel cuff
    5. White and Navy bengal stripe / Semi spread collar / French cuff
    6. Pink / Button collar / Single button barrel cuff
    7. 'Business' blue / Semi spread collar / Single button barrel cuff
    8. Other? Please suggest.

    Pants:

    1. Assorted light tan to British tan khaki or wool
    2. Light to medium gray worsted wool solid or small nailhead
    3. Other? Please suggest.

Wedding this past weekend with the missus. For the record I am not attempting to match my tie and her dress.

You do know that no-one here will even notice what you are wearing, don't you?

My attempts at PS origami failed, so we threw it away.

Nothing has yet to beat Sheepy's puppy in a pocket as far as P.S origami goes.

Personally, I think it's really hard to pull off a tie-less DB. I'd go with SB.

And what a sending off this was, a floricomous transition into the rebirth of spring !
and so, my revirescent friend, as you welcome the new season, I thought I could share my take, albeit a much more boring one - a play with fabrics :
the ramie blend is quite springy, and the wool is ultra-light weight.

    ramie/cotton : yohji y's
    cotton : damir
    wool : damir
    reversed waxed leather : f+b

Throw on a casual shirt (e.g. one of your button-down collared ones), undo the top couple of buttons, put on a pair of well-fitting chinos/khakis and a pair of your dark-brown derbies. If you like, add in a silk or linen square in any non-squared-off fold. Safe & easy while still smart, if potentially unexciting (probably not a bad thing in the context you'll be in).

For some reason this is coming across as a set of quite disparate items to me. Technically, I'm not sure why this is the case... probably the trousers are very very dark; the shirt is bright white and the jacket is neither, so the individual items don't seem to mesh to me. Of course, it might just be me feeling tired today, and not thinking terribly clearly, so it'll be interesting to read what others think.

How you do have 10,000 posts on a style devoted website and dress like this? Untucked sloppy white shirt with pants that are too baggy and long paired with uninspired shoes that are bordering on sneakers? Is this a prank?
